I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm reaching the same conclusion that I had last night. If there are even a few anomalies in a "leaked" picture, I have to say it's not a genuine image. At this point in the development cycle, I feel as if the models would look a lot better, and with that close up image that @ lightdasher posted, I can see how this was taken from Marth, and I can see some weird looking spots, namely, Chrom's neck.

EDIT: Just read the thread on 4chan. Confirmed Fake.

This doesn't effect his chances though. I still think he'll be in.

The clearer image looks terrible. The shading looked bad on the neck on the tv mockup, but it looks dire now we're seeing it like this. The shoulder is equally as poor as the neck - reeks of the work of an inexperienced photoshop shader. I give props for the design work on the shoulder pad, but that shading - oh my.

Edit: Nice, a deconfirmation. Still, doesn't affect Chrom's chances - I know there's a good few people who want him in

I don't know who "the guy that faked it" is nor have I seen the clear image before, only the blurred version from the infamous middle finger image. So instead of giving a vague, arrogant answer, why not supply more information?

He just admitted it's fake. Even if he hadn't, the terrible shading and multitude of inconsistencies are multiplied tenfold in the hi-def image. Pretty good fake though, considering what we've seen previously.

As it was on the original photograph, it didn't look so terrible - the detail was lost at distance and you could only spot the neck. However, in the hi-def shot, the shoulder and neck both look pretty poor, and there's some blurring around the edge of the pad, as well as a few minor quirks around the edges of his collar. All in all, I've seen much worse, and for an April Fool there seems to have been a lot of effort put in. He's definitely not a professional photoshop user, or at least in this field, but he certainly didn't need to be to fool people with this one.

Ugh, I knew this thread would be hell today. Chrom being faked is sad, but he's most likely in the game. The Lip leak wasn't even good though.

Regardless if the Palutena/Chrom leaks are real or not it's nice to know that it won't effect their chances of making the roster (and both have nice chances).

That Lip leak is pretty weak. She looks like a sprite, not a 3D model. Good job on realistically placing the image on the 3DS at least.

Well the Palutena picture in general has a lot of good things going for it. No original model for either Palutena or Mario, the fact that there are two pictures from two different angles, the unique background. There aren't any blatant issues like we've seen in the Chrom picture, and the outline is consistent with just about every 3DS picture having the outlines (which is pretty much all of them).

That's one leak I will say I believe. I was hesitant with the Chrom leak, but I saw the flaws in it. They're what made me stop from calling it real.

Anyway, yeah. I think Palutena is in. Even if this leak didn't exist, I would still say that.

I will say though, that the fact that it's been alive for months now has to mean something in its favor.

Yeah but we've already gone over everything about the Palutena leak at least 3 times over, it's either real or a good looking at at the end of the day.

Well that feeling of legitimacy ended quickly, that's why making picture leaks is not worth it, wasting time to create an imperfect picture.

I feel like many assume those who analyzed it bought into it or believed it completely, when really i dont think anyone actually at their core thought it was a confirmation of him even those who delved into debunking it. No harm really came from this, it filled time we would have wasted with even weaker attempts anyway.
