If you are talking about the Diddy & Dixie team, it was de-confirmed due to Diddy being revealed by himself, and Dixie NOT being revealed on direct that was near the only day that is a special occasion related to her (TF's release date).

Well, it states that they're paired in a similar way that Zelda and Sheik are paired, meaning that they don't appear at the same time. Also, they could change out in a different way than the down special, since Diddy's bananas were revealed. I mean, if Samus and Zero Suit Samus can do it, why not Diddy and Dixie? They could switch out by taunt or Final Smash or some other alternate way.

I don't understand why everyone is so against Diddy and Dixie being together. If you don't like Diddy, play as Dixie. If you don't like Dixie, play as Diddy. It's not like you're forced to play as both Zelda and Sheik.

If he knew, then he would've told us that Lucario was going to be the next character revealed instead of Diddy. Missing it only proves you aren't working for Namco Bandai or Sora and you're just a fake leaker.

I highly doubt it but it's still possible. And maybe Sakurai wants to confirm all the veterans of a franchise before revealing the newcomers. Maybe that's why all Mario characters were shown before revealing Rosalina.

I don't think that '____ will be revealed _____' rumors debunk them. That E3 leak from last year was "debunked" by this thread's definition, YET is 4 of 6 so far in terms of character reveals (Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer and Little Mac with Mii and Pa-Man to go). So once Mii and Pac-Man are revealed, will it suddenly be "unbunked?" it's an absurd concept to debunk stuff based on that.

The Diddy/Dixie combo could still turn out to be true, but in the vein of the Shiek transformation. Obviously instead of Diddy Genderbending, Diddy would go back into the Barrel, and Dixie would come out of the barrel.

Have we seen any other transformation character yet? So the diddy/dixie combo is not out yet, imo.

You're right. That's probably the main reason. But for a Dixie or King K.Rool trailer, Diddy would most likely appear.

What I'm getting at is that we shouldn't debunk a DK newcomer yet even though people expected one for DKC:TF release.

With respect to Diddy's banana peels, the picture doesn't actually show him throwing one down as he did in Brawl. It merely shows Fox slipping on a peel while Diddy taunts, which isn't very solid proof that he still has that move. It's sort of like that Phantom in Zelda's picture...we still have no idea what the deal is with that thing.

I'm not saying I believe for sure that the Diddy/Dixie combo is in the game (since we haven't seen Sheik or Zero Suit Samus yet), but rather that until we have some ultimate proof about Diddy's moveset we have no idea what to expect because no one can predict what goes on inside of Sakurai's crazy brain.

And as for that old leak...to be honest I'd be cool with that character roster if that's indeed what ends up happening. Sure, Lucario's reveal before Diddy sort of debunks it, but reveal dates could probably be switched around depending on lots of factors, and I believe they're less set in stone than we think.

We'll see how it pans out.

Loadout is an amazing game and I love you for playing it.

Back on topic it just seems so unlikely to me. Seems like the guy is just trying to bull**** your friend, which is kinda even further cemented by him refusing to talk about Palutena in any way, not even mentioning the leak.

Personally, if those were the rest of the newcomers I'd be very disappointed. Out of those, I'd look forward to Ridley and that's about it. But according to this, there could be more as he never stated that these are the only newcomers.

Yeah i dont think it diminishes their chances as a whole since its definitely possible, but diddy coul have easily appeared in january if they had that planned with him in said trailer. For me personally, i dont think there will be any DK newcomers as much as many dont want to hear that.
