The Sound Guy Leak still sounds true...to me. I believe that when he stated Diddy would be the next reveal as of Feb 2, he actually could have meant "the next Veteran revealed", so as to say THIS SOUND GUY may just not have been specific enough when typing in the information. Everyone does not type so literally so he more than likely did not think to say Little Mac's reveal before Diddy (Veteran character) did NOT count as LM is a "Newcomer" character, but at the same time Sakurai could have changed something, in terms of scheduling, too. Sound Guy did confirm Waluigi as an AT way back when, so that is something...

Just seems to me that The Sound Guy leak is still the realest dead leak...Sakurai knows all the leaks or most that have been put out there so of course he would try purposely to disprove them all, but Sound Guy probably DOES know some things. The way this leak is written has more than meets the eye in it than the rest imo.

All he needed to do was just say, "Diddy will be the next Veteran revealed as of Feb. 2", but since he did not say that little, minor, possibly overlooked, hair-thin detail, we don't believe it. I think its still more valid than we all think..The only mistake I see in this leak as of yet, is the fact that he was too GENERAL by saying, NEXT CHARACTER...not NEXT VETERAN...big deal...also Sakurai COULD just switch up when ANY Newcomer will be revealed so as to ruin any and all leaks..

Yeah, I agree with this. The sound guy and the translator leak have many parallels and the contents/inclusions of them have all been true (besides the date of character reveals but yeah). If any/both of these leaks turned out to be true, I would definitely not complain as my most wanted newcomers are in (K. Rool, Ridley, Pac-Man).

I discount leaks that pair up Chrome and Lucina. For one, it's more than likely only a popular idea because you see plenty of copy cat leakers running around using it. Copying another leak, does not make a leak more legitimate, unless said earlier leak turned out to be true. Another, is that there's no real reason for them to be paired. Yes, they hail from the same game, but they are more often than not fighting separately as two units. Then people say "but it makes them more unique". This would only be true if it made sense, like the ice climbers for example. you can't just throw together two characters in a duo, say it's unique, and be done with it. If we get either, they will be going solo, not in a pair.

Nah, I don't think he's mixing up reveal dates just so he could kill leaks, it's probably just to be unpredictable.

To be fair, as fake as the leak obviously is, that is a personal prediction from the leaker, and not anything definite.

Here's my base idea:

I've seen a few ideas about how they would work as a tag team (IC style, "transformation" style and one that was more unique, that had the off member stay in background [like PT] much like how they do in the game during Dual Support). So I've come up with something using the Dual Support style that I don't think has been suggested. Dual Support allows for the off teammate to block an attack or add an attack during the battling teammate's moves. I think this idea should be transferred to smash. The basic idea is that the off teammate could be used to extend a combo or as a combo breaker.

Here it is in the context of a Chrom & Robin Duo:

- Down Special: Dual Support!
This move switches the active fighter between Chrom & Robin. However, using this move can extend a combo. When inputted during the end of an attack, the off teammate will tag in with an attack. (For example: Chrom lands a hit, and then Robin jumps in striking with a spell. Then Robin is free to launch a projectile after the opponent who, is presumably, being knocked away. The offensive switch will offer no invulnerability frames. A defensive switch turns the move into a pseudo-counter: when inputted while being hit by an opponent the off teammate will switch-in and defend, there will be some invulnerability frames on that. Both the offensive and defensive switch will have a cooldown time. When input not during an attack or while being hit they simply switch places very quickly, the quickest switch in game; no invulnerability frames.

I have done a number of movesets with Chrom and Lucina. They would be a team far unlike the others. They share a health amount, but the way they fight together is different.

Ice Climbers scarcely actually function as a team, so much as one character mimics the other. They are interchangeable
Zelda and Sheik are two characters who have absolutely 0 synergy and no reason to be paired.
Pokemon Trainer isn't a team. It is just a step further into mediocrity from where Zelda and Sheik left off. Instead of rewarding you for actively using all the Pokemon, you are needlessly penalized if you don't.
Olimar is an ammunition based character.
Rosalina falls under the puppet-fighter archetypes. We'll see how she pans out.

None of these teams really call in assists like you would in a fighter, and I think there is a lot of untapped potential.


In my movesets, the supporting character would be in the background, and all of the Specials rely on the supporting character. For example:


B: Swap
Switch Chrom or Lucina. Can be done mid-attack, allowing the supporting character to continue a combo string.

B Forward: Dual Strike
Supporting character jumps in to attack. Lucina does a multi-hitting stab, good for combo setups. Chrom does a leaping slash, good for ending combos. This move has no animation for the active character, so it doesn't interrupt your offence.

B Down: Dual Guard
Active character blocks the attack, and the supporting character jumps in to attack while the opponent is off-balance, taking the role of the active character.

B Up: Aether
The active character throws Falchion up and exits to the background. The other character plants their Falchion into the ground, jumps in to catch the airborne Falchion and brings it down.


And so on. I have made more than one moveset for both Chrom and Lucina, and I can continue to do so. It is silly to assume they would have to fight the same way, because there are still myriads of fighting styles left to be explored. The fact they both use the same sword enhances their potential.

I don't see how those two throw it out, particularly since one is expected anyway and the other's extremely popular and wanted. I could see both of them in the game.

What gives me pause is the circumstances of how it was obtained, the source could easily have lied or otherwise as we don't have a link to him nor any other connection to make. Even if he is right, we have to take a leap of faith with him at the moment.

Seems pretty believable, but we'll have to see.
