Lucario's down air can stage spike if that counts for anything.
Yeah I just found that out recently.. but it's not as fun as a meteor strike.

I wanna his movie theme in the game too... Sakurai please...
I see like a 0.00001% of it happening but I can hope
I personally want an upbeat remix of this:

Personally, I've always liked the American soundtrack to Mewtwo's films better than the Japanese one. The Japanese scores didn't really hold much for me, but the American ones always gave me that sense of 'mysteriousness' (especially his birth theme which is used in the two movies).

The only Japanese one that I liked really was his battle theme when they fight the clones. I wish they'd kept that instead of that 'brother' song.

Personally I find it just as satisfying but thats just me.

@ Cutie Gwen Cutie Gwen that Luigi scenario sounds like bad DI. Yoshi doesn't need to be nerfed, he's fine the way he is, you could have just fought against a really good Yoshi player. If anyone needs a nerf I would say Diddy or ZSamus (and Im not saying this as if they're broken because they're not, they could just use a slight nerf). I kinda wish they didn't nerf Greninja's upsmash but what can ya do y'know?

Yoshi's pretty damn good, and I say he should be nerfed a bit. Not too much but a bit.
Christ, Lucario is goddamn beastly if you don't kill him at high percentages. Least he's lighter now

I've heard a lot of people say that the top tiers shouldn't be nerfed, but the bottom tiers should be buffed instead. Frankly, I agree with them.

I would say Yoshi is A tier currently, he's one of my mains, would hate for him to be nerfed to the point of unplayable for numerous reasons.
You can imagine that Lucario isn't a good matchup for Sheik since she has very little kill moves.

@ DrRiceBoy DrRiceBoy I totally agree with that too

As a Yoshi main, he needs to be buffed :troll:

But what nerfs are you thinking of? Personally I'd rather see poorer characters get buffed, then good characters nerfed. Unless they're too good, like broken good.

Make him a bit slower, slightly reduce the recovery of the eggs and some of his moves weaker

I was playing as Wario against Lucario, but his Up B lag and lightweight make up for his power

Lucario is highly overrated. I use him a lot and can say that he isn't as good as people make him to be.

He's extremely risky. He sucks butt at lower percents. Don't think about killing anybody until you reach at least 50% because that's how bad low percent Lucario is. He's slow and floaty. He's quite light which kind of makes him easier to kill... which means it isn't easy to stay at high percents to take advantage of aura. Also, most of his kills moves have huge startup and end lag. They don't have much range either without high aura. They kill hecka early, but if you miss you're dead. For Lucario, losing a stock is more crucial than any other character because of aura.

It's funny. Aura is Lucario's weakest and strongest point. I already went through his weak points, so now here are his strong points. Deals tons of damage and kills as early as 30% with high aura. One read and they're done for. After you take out their stock, you'll be able to deal a ton of damage on their next one if you stay alive for awhile. His recovery is one of the best in the game (just don't use it on stage). Aura also gives him extremely good spacing tools in Force Palm and Aura Sphere. Both these moves deal a ton of damage and are able to kill as well. Lucario is pretty damn strong with aura at high percents.

Overall, Lucario is good. Definitely above average and better than most of the cast. However, he isn't as OP as most people make it seem.

Has anybody noticed that Mewtwo opens his mouth now when he throws a shadow ball?

I swear he never used to do that.

I see people have been talking about mains.

:4mewtwo:Became my favorite Pokemon after I found out he was playable in Melee. Also because he was the most powerful Pokemon back in the day and I liked having a cool legendary on my team in Red. Also a fan of the first movie. Too many reasons to like him.

:4ness:Was the last character for me to unlock in 64. Back before I knew how to use the Internet, I thought the last slot was Wario or something and could never figure out how to unlock the character. One day I played Smash at my cousin's house and he had every character unlocked. He showed off Ness, and I thought it was cool to play as a kid like I was. Also, I thought he looked Asian. Since then, Ness has been one of my mains in every Smash game. When I finally got to play through EarthBound, the Mother series became one of my favorites. I've loved its music since I first heard some Mother music on the Onett stage in Melee.

:4greninja:My main reason is :substitute:. I don't care if it's the worst counter move, I like trying to summon the doll. Also, Greninja is fun to play, water starters have been my favorite since gen 2, etc.

:4lucas:I loved Mother 3. That's pretty much my main reason. A little different from Ness too.

:4charizard:Because I mained Pokemon Trainer in Brawl. Also, first starter ever for me was Charmander. While I'm not great with slow but strong characters, as a fan of Pokemon and growing up with gen 1, I'm playing as him sometimes.

:4samus: Samus is cool, and I love the Metroid series. I haven't played Other M, but I've played all the other games.

:4marth: Tipper, speaks Japanese, feels comfortable to use, enjoy the representation of the Fire Emblem series and how he basically defined it. Also, his appearance in Melee is what brought the series to the west.

:4lucina: Like her as a character in FEA. Also, I love her alternate costumes.

Some honorable mentions:
:4palutena: because her reveal trailer was animated by Shaft.
:4robinm::4robinf: Costumes, cool way for representing Fire Emblem, etc.
:rosalina: Because I like the music from Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and I like using characters on their home stage.
:4shulk: The Monado, costumes, and because a friend hyped him up for me.
:4pikachu: Was my main in 64 before I learned about Ness. Has some cool hats. Still easy to use considering Pichu was one of my mains in Melee. Also, I got a Pikachu Amiibo and named him Pikabro while wearing an Ethan hat. He might be better than me at this point.

For Glory's two stock rule alone isn't in Lucario's favor, also Lucario at lower percentage allows him to do more combos since his knockback is at the minimum, Lucario's grabs are pretty darn good too, sets up the combos. Lucario is a good character, I never hear people say he's OP (and I go on the Lucario social thread) and I rarely ever find people online playing as Lucario so he's not really overrated compared to other characters like Luigi, Ness, the Links, or Little Mac. Lucario players online are a minority.

Lucario's counter can deal up to about 19% (rounded) damage at 190% damage and as low as 7% at no damage but Greninja can deal from 11%-14% damage with the possibility of a Meteor Smash or a Spike.

It's the Lucario forums... of course people are gonna be biased and not complain about him, haha. =P

I see people complain about him a lot on other forums and social media (Facebook, Reddit, etc). He really is a good character, but everywhere that's not the Lucario forums overrate him too much IMO. I play a lot of Lucario btw, so I'm confident I know what I'm saying. Lucario grabs are pretty darn good, u-throw (what a surprise just like Mewtwo) especially. Lucario does have some combos at low percent. Yeah, they're combos, but they do zero damage. After a few u-throw to fair chains they'll be only at like 30%. One attack from a high percent Lucario is better than 7 attacks at low percent. Lucario is better with combos at mid percents I'd say. There really is no advantage that low percent Lucario has... heck, high percent Lucario can still combo u-throw to u-air at high percents if the enemy is at a low enough percent. It'll do the same amount of damage as like 6 u-throw to fair chains at low percent too.

I actually see Lucarios quite a lot on For Glory. It's really annoying too, because all they do is spam roll and Aura Sphere. >.< I love playing Lucario but it irritates me to no end when I'm fighting against one.

Lucario's counter though it can be powerful has a weakness: It only moves one way. The amount of time I successfully countered as Lucario in Brawl only to fly off the screen is hilarious, Greninja has something no other counter has: He can choose which direction he reappears. You can even aim upwards and combo into Uair at certain percentages

W-w-what have I done?!?! I have defiled lord Mewtwo's u-throw and compared it to another filthy throw! I am shameful... I beg for your forgiveness, lord Mewtwo. I shall commit Sudoku to repent for my sins...

Guys i'm going to download Fire Emblem Awakening today (my first FE game) Is this a wise choice?
Only if you have The Wonderful 101:troll:.
JK, JK. Seriously, though, my bias says you should get The Wonderful 101 first.

Can you imagine if @NonSpecificGuy liked every post dating back to when the Mewtwo boards started .__.

LOL

That would be amazing, actually.

I might as well jump in to the 'why I main who and why' talk. I'll include each game as well:

:4mewtwo::mewtwopm::mewtwomelee:- This guy, of course. He's my based GOD essentially, and my most played. I've maxed out the hours for single character on Melee with him LOL. I'm very devoted. I first learned of Melee after seeing Mewtwo in videos on the net. Once I saw him in the game, I bought it for him as I was starting to be a fan back then. I saw Taj's matches on YouTube after a while and that's when I really started learning about competitive Melee and the advanced techniques. When I first got the game I thought I was doing something wrong because all the characters were already unlocked and I'd expected it would be sometime before I unlocked Mewtwo, but I later discovered that the memory card I purchased (which was 2nd hand) had already had Melee data on it. Talk about lucky!

I would spend countless hours just playing Mewtwo and trying to do everything I saw Taj doing. It took many months of practice, but I got them all down. Four years later of playing by myself, I went to my first tournament and came 5th with Mewtwo. Since then I've got consistent 5th/7th/9th rankings and I'm pretty much the only Mewtwo main in my state. Maining Mewtwo is unheard of here. I will always main him above all. He's the reason I got into Smash in the first place.

I really can't wait to see him again.

:marthmelee: - My second main, and one of my favourites. I've always loved Marth's movement. I was really inspired to pick him up because at first, I needed a higher tier to help me do better in tournaments (as it's not possible to get anywhere in competitive Smash if you ONLY use Mewtwo) but after seeing M2K and Dr PP's Marth's, I was hooked. I'm not into the FE series, but Marth is one of my dedicated and consistent mains. I do not use him in Sm4sh. I tried :sheikmelee: for a while, also inspired by M2K but I never really got the hang of her and she didn't feel as natural to me as Marth.

:falcomelee::foxmelee: - I tend to bounce between these two, but Falco would be my most used lately after Marth. I love his pillar combos and his down spike is a beyond awesome kill move. Fox, I can play as fluently as I can Falco, but overall Falco feels better and more natural to me. I love Fox's waveshine and recovery.

:4lucario::lucario: - I use Lucario, but not as often nowadays. He was mega fun in Project M. I loved his movement on PM, and will still use him on that game consistently. I do use him in Sm4sh but he feels far too slow.

:4jigglypuff::jigglypuffmelee: - I use her time to time, but I could never main her as a character. I've pulled of some stupidly suprising rests in the past. Especially against my boyfriend (who mains Jigglypuff) to which he gets up and yells 'WHAT' XD

:4duckhunt::4sheik::4yoshi::4lucina::4ness: - Some of my other used characters. I can never stick to one as I have trouble finding a main that I'm dedicated to, and Mewtwo will be that when he comes out. When the game first game out I consistently used Lucina. I had no idea she was bottom tier. I still use her, but not as much. Sm4sh is mostly me bouncing around trying to find fun in the game without Mewtwo in it.

I still need a N3DS and either Xenoblade or Dark Dawn
I still need a N3DS. Still not sure if I should wait for the next gen or skip it... but if a new Pokemon or Fire Emblem comes out on it then I'd need it. Currently I'm leaning towards skipping it, but if they announce some big titles I'll get it. I just need money... which is something I don't have... QQ.

Also, goodnight everybody. It's 4:46 AM and I needa get to bed or else my momma's gonna spank me (surprised she hasn't yet). I'll lurk for another 10 minutes or so on my phone, but I won't post because I hate the phone keyboard. Farewell, my brethrens... we shall meet again in another life (which is in like 8~10 hours).

He might...I've heard more people say Greninja has the worst counter. I personally don't know the stats well enough to say. :drshrug:
Personally I think Shulk has one of the worst counters. It has a lot of start up lag, and sometimes you can respond to the counter before it even executes.

I think Greninja's counter is probably better, slightly less predictable and you can change its direction. It's definitely better than Lucario's in my opinion.

But Xenoblade is a big game.
It lasts for over 100 hours and has loads of huge areas.
