I actually think this might be one of falcos best stages. It has a high ceiling, is large two places to recover. Plus it has platforms just ripe for combos and laser trix. Only downside is the non existent ledge, but you can work around it.

Thoughts?

i dont play much kongo 64 but i imagine it would be bad for shl domination. you could still use it but you would have to get way more creative.

Random info: If you're on the ledge and you press jump you can land on the platform above iirc

Yeah it's a cool stage and it's always good if you're able to play on many stages.

The high ceiling makes chars who live forever pretty good tho.
However, the ledges hurt Marth/Doc/Mario etc.

Sheik is really good on that stage so don't CP it against Sheik

Iono, she just lives forever there.

On the one hand because the stage is huuuge.
On the other hand because it gives Sheik more options to recover so it isn't as easy to punish her (i don't say it's hard tho)

There's the top platform she can upB/aridodge at
If the opponent doesn't edgehog in time (cuz he tries to cover the top platform for example), Sheik doesn't have huge problems to sweetspot the ledge
If Sheik can't reach the top platform anymore and the opponent edgehogs she can go for the barrel (if it's ar away, tranforming into Zelda+upB towards the barrel may work)

I don't see anything that harms Sheik on KJ64 tbh
With her high jumps she can push opponents who recover onto the top platform offstage again without much effort.

With her needles she can give some chars a hard time if they want to sweetspot the ledge.

I don't know if the centre of the stage makes huge differences for Sheik but don't think so.

That's my impression about Sheik on KJ64, but i don't have that much experience on that stage, so if im talking bs just tell me xP

Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say
But nothin comes out when they move they lips
Just a buncha gibberish
And mutha****as act like they forgot about Dre

jsut kidding, whenever i beat soap with falco (back in the day it happened a few times) it was usually on YS, DL, or BF, i'd CP any of those over KJ64 too, battlefield especially.

The dip in the center of the stage marginalizes the usefulness of SHLing,
imo enough to make it un-counterpick-worthy
that's why you mix it up, do double jump lasers, laser on the platforms, etc. you don't really need to just shl.

I like it mostly for the fact that falco already has ****ty recovery so it's not really a detterent there but it really hurts other chars against him. plus the moving platforms are good for camping/combos. it is pretty big though so taking someone like peach there is a no no.

soap

it's easy to recover through the stage, onto the platform, onto the moving platform, with the barrel, etc and actually survive edgeguards at medium percents vs characters.

platforms are fairly conducive to fair and bair and needle spam.

gimping can be fairly gay there with sheik's arsenal of homo-**** available.

high platforms make it gay for floaties to approach you if you keep moving around. you can sort of pull a fox and just keep moving away from them and it's gay.

Sheik is good against Falco here. The center angle ruins SHL. All the platforms means she can work around any other lasers. The ledges almost entirely eliminate the viability of phantasm recovery. Her recovery is hardly affected at all. Use it against characters that aren't Sheik, Peach, or Jigglypuff. Ice Climbers do poorly here because you will almost always be able to separate them because of the platforms. They should be playing mostly grounded anyways in this match up, so it's really a mixed bag.
