Im pretty sure the majority of the ppl I play with in brawl can utterly destroy the people that play their "better" game

But who cares its just someones opinion, no matter how much you think one way you wont change anothers opinion

They play Halo? Tell them to get at me then.

On the seriousness of this post:

I was reffering to other competitive games. Ex: Tekken, Halo, Street Fighter, etc. I don't limit myself to just Melee. Matter of fact I play Halo more and rather get into that community. Not saying the Smash community isn't good. Just saying that I find that I have a greater talent for that game more than I do Smash.

Edit: Jwolf just made my day with that picture.

god I miss Halo 1 ;___;

I wish they had a fully functional version for the 360 [including Live]...I'd seriously pay like 70+ for that XD
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTT

I remember seeing on the 360 Marketplace you can download Halo 1 to your HDD. I didn't really look at how many Microsoft Points it was or if it had LIVE but I do remember seeing it up there. It might have LIVE capabilities. You never know. lol

The maps on Halo 1 are so much better than the maps on Halo 2/3. They brought one of the maps from Halo 1 back for Halo 3. It's renamed Cold Storage but it's basically the same as Chill Out.

Edit: Well I like the additions that Bungie did to Zanzibar. More places for my snipes. :3

JRick needs to come back and **** everyone's face off again...I don't understand why he never bothered trying to go pro :( oh well...probably cuz of how time consuming it is to fulfill the commitments of doing so?

MASHI - this is the link for Kadaj's Brawl tourney ^_^

edit @ Rhan: WORD?!?!?!?!?! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'll have to consider that! Though you'll never hear from me again if it does have Live on it XD btw, if people don't recall, Halo 1 discs were fully functional on 360s...................except when you did multiplayer vs. splitscreen [co-op worked].....it would freeze ;__;

Well I went searching and I found out that there is no LIVE for it [Million Sadfaces :( Sorry Toasty], but it has been fixed to play Multiplayer Split and System Link with other 360's. I haven't seen if you can link 360's and normal Xbox's together to play it. Probably a low chance at that. It's also just 1200 Microsoft Points (Equivilant to about $12). Which could be less than what you could find at a local Gamestop (if you could find the game there). I found a Halo 1 for the PC that was $19.99. So I'd say it's a pretty good deal if you're a true Halo fan. I wouldn't get it unless I knew a lot of people with it that wanted to system link.

Marketplace Details

Edit: Also I think the PC versions can be played over the net with others. I'm no good with the keyboard though. :(

I love you Rhan! I can't look at the link right now but do you know if they fixed the 360 to READ the original Halo 1 disc and not have those multiplayer issues? I'm gonna assume that's what you were implying =D

anyway I honestly don't NEED sys link or Live to enjoy Halo 1, so long as I have at least one or two people to split-screen-vs with ^_^

Ridiculous
I don't know what you mean >_>

My favorite thing about almost any shooter is marksmanship and the quickdraw (except Counterstrike or any game with rapid fire/power weapons that can kill from almost any distance with a headshot). I was never one to be heavily into destruction [grenade-headshot is a different story though XD]. So even though, in the grand scheme of things, it's an almost too-powerful weapon, it's possible to appropriately measure a skill I greatly appreciate ^_^

old school halo 1 LAN parties were the ****
hell yeah dude. that's 100% what got me hooked on the game...meaning it was one specific event I went to that opened my eyes haha...8 Vs. 8 in two separate rooms of Asians Vs. Whites was pretty amazing...esp because of the window for inappropriately appropriate names was ****ing blown open XD

I'm not sure about the disc reading problem. But sources say that the coding problem has been fixed in the downloadable version on the 360 Marketplace.

Also I disapprove of screen cheating. That's why I like system linking. It's something less to worry about. Jesus frowns upon screen cheaters.

Well then I frown upon his b;tch a.ss!

It's just a different skill that requires knowledge of maps and the ability to multitask. It also results in awesome mindgame battles approaching stalemate only to be broken by the human nature of a lack of everlasting patience!! YESSSS!!!

Clearly, I love this ****.

NO JOHNS! Seriously..I love system link and it's a much different game without screen watching, BUT when it's split screen it's just another element you gotta deal with!

I dunno, maybe it's cuz I'm old as **** and the shooters I grew up on didn't even have the option for system link [since I never got into PC shooters except Counter Strike which was like 2006 XD] so I was used to screen watching and it was a normal accepted thing.

Throw that P***y at me? B***h I think Im Babe Ruth
lol how do you feel when your sneaking up on your friend then he just randomly turns around and theirs no way in h3ll he could have known you were there unless he looked up or down at your srceen lmao

or when your about to get that sweet headshot then they just start jumping and rolling all over the place lol

I hated it in perfect dark and golden eye as well lol

lol don't be a nub, step it up! when you're USED to it, you can predict their actions. And good screenwatchers can't be snuck up on so you gotta earn it!!! I don't care at all when that happens, cuz I'm not a b;tch.

"about to get a sweet headshot" ??? It's your fault for not getting it! If you know they screenwatch, BAIT THE JUMP! Follow the snake pattern if they run around, etc etc. It adds a degree of difficulty that makes the kill SO much more rewarding. You can't be spoiled by having all the time to steady your aim, it's about quickness and ****.

Pong isn't a shooter...
Lol, no but you're talking about goldeneye haha

When it turns into a patience game, it seems gay imo. I just run out like rambo so I can see something happen. its one reason i dont like shooters. screenwatching is hard not to do, thats understandable and not my problem. its the patience required. But hey, shooters were never my thing anyway. I dont play them so often.

lmao I usually LOSE that stalemate, btw, because it doesn't last very long. If only the oldschool Halo guys at ODU were here to vouch for me...I was always the crazy wreckless one XD I loved the challenge of getting the headshots in when just rushing in while a dude was camping the entry [forgot to mention that part]

4-way FFAs were amazing though...I could play Hang 'em High all day...

Kadaj: Being a b;tch can't be justified XD

This man knows how I feel. System link takes away that option of being cheated out of a well deserved kill. Unless the other person is smart and always active enough where he won't get sniped or snuck up on.

Any sneak up is well deserved.

Without the use of screen cheating it can really set the skill gap between the players and how they react in different situations. It’s like learning Smash. There is a set difference in skill between a guy who knows advance techs and a person who just started to play the game. In shooters, screen cheating almost completely fills this skill gap. The only things that are still a factor are:

-Knowing gun placement
-Precision
-Knowledge of map

Those are probably the only things that will matter. If both players know then it’s going to be a pretty slow and boring match. Without screen cheating though forces you to be more knowledgeable and active. These would probably consist of:

-Being more active
-Scanning the map at all times
-Learning spawn points
-Knowledge of map
-Precision
-Gun placement
-Reading movements
-Watching for opponent patterns
-Mindgames
-Sneaky tactics
-Constant Movement

Clearly, without screen looking there is more to learn and can really separate the skill difference between players.

Unfortunately, I only got 1 or 2 working controllers for it. :(
