ahh, new scoop. I have a drive schedueled for saturday, tonight i'm going to try to re-scheduele! and i tooooootally forgot about the drive until late last night =X but after drivers ed tonight, i'll know if i can get out of the drive =3
Anyone else see something wrong in paying $10, plus tax, for the chance to win... $10?
I'll talk this thing's time over with Diz, Scotu, and lain when I get back home.

Yeah, i don't tutor for less than $5. Randy says he might have a car @ 6 or something, so that's probably when i'll show up, so make sure there is room in the lineup when we get there.

Hey firebrand, how much would your place be to rent for a smash tourney, and how many people can it accommodate? It would not be worth it to charge more than $5 a person venue fee, so it better not cost that much. And does your facility support video capture?

ok, so i just got back from driver's ed. they kind of gave me a hard time and tried guilting me into not going. then he was mean to me the rest of class ='( oh well, i'm still going to the tourney this weekend! =D

because we may be able to smash at Wayne State University..
its downtown detroit. but hey its a mcdonalds right above the underground(where we will be) and a wirless internet center about that for my pearl players like myself
they close at 8pm though , i think but umm i'll check into it

scotu, we've already got a great venue at AA when we're there. It's got vending machines, a wendy's that's a 5 minute walk away, and it's free.

The catch is that it won't be available until late August/ early september. I wanted a tourney in mid-late june, maybe july. Don't want to compete w/ FC though, (i still might go). And I want to hold a much larger event than we did @ UofM. W/ everyone out for summer, we could get the usuals, and hopefully some of the bigger guys out there too.
UM's Bursley Hall will definitely be open this summer. Camp CAEN's using it for holding all the residential campers and staff.

To throw a smash tourny of your own, we charge a $5 per person venue fee, and can support up to 48, but there wouldnt be much sitting room. We will supply the projector, one gamecube, a 32'' TV, and tables to support as many TVs as you want to bring.
The prize payout is not that high, however, its coming from my own pocket when I face challengers. I'm bringing a friend on wednesday if you want to do doubles.

Far as I'm concerned the floor is a very big (and confortable) sofa/Futon.
When did you get a 32" TV?

Several questions/ comments Firebrand:
1: if we didn't use the projector, could the "venue fee" be reduced (maybe to $3, you'd still be making ~$150)?
2: could the fee be lessened/ eliminated for people bringing a cube&tv / video capture equipment?
3: does your tv have an AV out jack?
4: What fast food restaurants are w/in 5 min walking distance?
5: It would already have a $10 entry fee to support the prize money
6: I, ankoku, randizzle, would do the organizing
7: if our AA venue is open, we're using that because it's nice and free.
8: I'm probably going to edit this in the near future

yeah, if i end up going. If i go, it will only be if randy goes, @ that point, we'd be going after 5, when i beleve that it is $10.60 w/ tax for the rest of the night, and it would be appreciated if you made your challenge award like $13-16 to cover the expense of going. Besides if you're better than dope (HA!) you'd have 0 trouble beating me. But yeah, i'd like to discuss it.
