Brawl is fun and all, but does anyone play soul calibur 4 here? It's got a much higher learning curve than smash but it's still fun even if you are a noob :D

☆ I'll agree, but at least it's not as bad as Soul Calibur II Link's ring out grab, that's just broken. >.< ☆I enjoy ring out combos. . . . yep. . . they are so much fun.
Well, you can't expect ANY fighter to have a good story. Look at smash (including brawl: subspace is garbage...) and things like SF. I couldn't play tournamanet level EVER. People are just too good at knowing how to punish/Gi/JF and whatnot.SC4 had little to no storyline, really bad "tower" thing and the online play was mediocre at best. The only fun thing to do online was laugh at the people screaming at you for playing Yoda or playing as custom chars and dominating because I had UB3R health Talim and super strong Kilik.
Who do you play? I'm no pro, but I might be able to show you some things (X, Knightmare, Tira, Zas?)SC4 is fun and all, but I suck complete a** hole at it.
The only way I can play other players is online, and I seriously dont think that I've ever won. It's depressing for me really. I'm really good at smash and almost all shooters, but I can't get a grasp on this game. (Mainly executing combos properly. Timing is hard as hell to get on that game imo.) -.-
If anyone isnt mega pro at the game and wants to play me. Add me gamertag below and send me a message so we can play sometime.![]()
o.o I don't remember any Cass combos but I know 4AA:B is reallly good for comboing. It adds like 40 damage and isn't excrutiatingly hard to pull off.i love cass
this game is sick
i havent played too much lately tho
cass's 2BB 8B AA is amazing
Yea, it has a just input and it's easy to setup via 26B.o.o I don't remember any Cass combos but I know 4AA:B is reallly good for comboing. It adds like 40 damage and isn't excrutiatingly hard to pull off.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong but 3 had 100% combos, right? 4 has damage scaling to prevent any combos from doing more than like half health (and if they pull off a combo that does this kind of damage, at least one stun should be shakeable).I only played SC2 seriously, and I mained Raphael. After seeing how they nerfed him in SC3, I gave up on the games. Lol.
Besides, SC3 was crap compared to 2. Is 4 any good?
You mean Cass's 4BB:A. Although it's not like, the most important move in her moveset, it's a general fact that "If you cant 4BB:A consistantly, dont try to play cass seriously."o.o I don't remember any Cass combos but I know 4AA:B is reallly good for comboing. It adds like 40 damage and isn't excrutiatingly hard to pull off.
Yeah, it's called Variable Cancelling4 is better than 3 from a competitive point of view, as I've heard. 3 was pretty much broken beyond the point of playability, or something like that. 4 is good though.
I think that's comical because Raph is a character that gets annhilated by step. (He basically has NO good options vs step/sidewalk)Raphael is a lot of fun in 4 for me, though I don't play him completely seriously. My game revolves around sidestepping attacks and following up with his grabs that involve vampire neck-biting. It's hilarious.
Asta in 4 is pretty straightforward. Fairly solid character, too.I just started playing again and I've been playing a lot more serious this time around, before I just played and looked up combos in Training now I'm looking into more advanced stuff like setups the effective combos and frames I'm playing Astaorth so its hard to get used to playing him but I hope I can get past the noob stage.
What SC4 are you talking about?! >.> The game is pretty bad because of some super wack hitboxes and shaky hit detection. I'm literally known in my area for my ability to duck BBs and step step-killers. Makes no sense.aesthetically its bad but competively its pretty good.
~~
Only thing is the scene (like melee) in ft worth is very small
True hildes bs and some attacks do whiff (trust me as yoshi i have pulled my hair out when i miss a 66b after ear slicer. but the hit detection isnt THAT bad it only exists for certain characters like x, rock and a couple of others.Asta in 4 is pretty straightforward. Fairly solid character, too.
Strats pretty much involve zoning people out, bullrushing them towards ringout, and setting up 63214 B+G (If you play anybody good, you realistically are going to be setting up 63214 A+G, as they're not going to want to get grabbed by 63214 B+G. EVER.) Get the JFs on the grabs down, too. 5 frame breaks on jf? YES.
6K -> 2B+K, A+G is the most hilarious thing in the world.
And snaggin anybody with 1A+G is GOLD.

Then it breaks down into people's bias against the game. "How did Hilde make it past playtesting?" "Why does Kilik's Asura exist?" etc etc.
~~
The scene EVERYWHERE for the game is pretty small. AFAIK, the only place that has a real solid group is in NY where they do the kogarasumaru monthlies.
It's not entirely the game's fault, though. SC4 already had a small pool of returning fans to feed from thanks to SC3. :/
