I still dont understand why they didnt make a cd inspired movie after 2 with amy and metal!
In general they really rush through material! They skipped cd and adventure and combined 3 games of plot into one!
Im just saying movie 3 might be the end! because a lot of the following games and characters dont work without the skipped setup!
Well, they are not in order, but there is this.

Sonic CD could still be adapted into a movie.

Why should they make movies dedicated to single games though?
Because each game has enough potential for a movie plot?
Except maybe 3 and knuckles those should be together!
CD for example introduces amy, metal sonic, time travel and an entire hidden planet (that would fit really well into the movie world)
Also sonic movie 3 is based on a single game Sonic adventure 2!
But they shouldve made an adventure 1 movie first! also a cd movie to introduce amy and metal!

I saw this template and I couldn't resist.

Mario Movie: Well Peach, you're a pretty important character to this franchise, why don't we give you a starring role as Mario's equal partner and mentor who fights alongside him throughout the film?

Sonic Movie: Well Amy, I think so little of you and you're so unimportant to my vision of this franchise, I'm going to make 3 entire movies excluding you and then I'm going to prioritize characters that debuted multiple console generations after you and cut you out of a direct game adaptation's story that you played a big part in.

mariosonic.png

As I mentioned Rosalina being an almost certainty for the 2nd or 3rd Mario movie with the Luma cameo, and Rogue being cut alongside Amy for the adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2, I guess you could replace Peach and Amy with "Mario girls/Princesses" and "Sonic girls/heroines" in general as well.

I do think the Mario Movie Pushed Peach a bit too hard IMO! (although her big role might feel more justified if the sequels gives luigi more to do)
However this is still vastly prefarable over amy being mia
Like i get rogue she isnt that important but AMY Shouldve been in a Sonic Cd Movie with Metal Sonic (This movie shouldve been movie 3) And then shouldve returned in the SA2 Movie and sequels!

Peach: Hey Zelda, how are you doing?

Zelda: Great, Nintendo just gave me my own game where I'm the main protagonist!

Peach: Really, that's wonderful! I also just got my own game where I'm the main protagonist! And I got a juicy starring main role in the movie, exposing me to millions of casual audience members who've never played the games. And now girls everywhere are dressing up as me for Halloween! What about you, Amy?

Amy: Sega decided to skip over me, a Genesis era character for the 2nd Sonic Movie, while including both Tails and Knuckles. Then they decided to skip over both me and Rogue for the 3rd movie based on SA2 while including Shadow, despite us playing crucial roles in the games, I guess they'd rather spend time on a truckload of human characters that have never played any roles whatsoever in the games. And they somehow had time to give Knuckles an entire TV series, with even more human characters, but not even introduce me at all. Millions of casual audience members who see the Sonic movies will now see me as 5th bananas to Sonic, Shadow, Tails, and Knuckles, and at best I'll be saved for the 4th movie, despite Hollywood audiences traditionally losing interest after the 3rd (hence the massive amounts of trilogies in movies).

Peach and Zelda: ...that's rough, buddy. We used to be damsels in distresses all the time while you were playable in main series platformers all the time in the early Dreamcast era. Now we're getting treated better than you... how the tables have turned.

To be fair, once you look past her exclusion in the movies, Amy's doing pretty well, I think. Was playable for the first time in a modern-style Sonic in 18 years with Frontiers/Dream Team and had a playable role in Superstars.

She's doing fine in the games, I'll acknowledge that fully.

The problem is that movies tend to garner much larger audiences than games do. It's why they decided to adapt games like The Last of Us to TV shows, because they knew there was a massive demographic of people who would never touch a game, but they still wanted their story to reach that audience.

The Mario movie had to reach massive audiences of people who had never played the games in order to be successful. And the movie almost certainly did pull in at least some new fans who had their first exposure to the franchise with the movie, and now wanted to check out the games. And first impressions are extremely important, so if a character misses out on the movie, it could have a large effect on attracting new fans for that character in the games, and if they don't attract new fans, they might lose prominence within the games, it's a vicious cycle.

Remember that explosion in kids wearing Mario and Luigi costumes for Halloween in 2023? Lots of that probably had to do with the movie. And kids can become lifelong fans from that exposure to the franchise through the films.

And is Dream Team still confined to Apple Arcade? Really sucks that the first game in a long time to have Amy, Rogue, and Cream playable are trapped on a platform that very few people have.

So I just finished shadow generations. couple things in regards to the plot

what on earth was the point of the emerald switch? For that matter what was the point of bringing back the fake emerald at all if you’re not gonna use it for anything? He didn’t need to hold onto the real one he can use chaos control with the fake.

I do have to say Like or hate Modern Amy they really shouldnt mess with the Characterisation of her and other in older Titles!
If they had to have the less clingy amy in game they couldve had Frontiers Amy appearing in shadows Campain to reffrence her modern portrayal!

Adfding a couple of reffrences is fine but this sets a dangerous sentiment heck what if they go back and change some of amys best appearnces? (Sa 1 and 2) were shes balanced between compassion and fangirling!

Well, the director confirmed that there will be a post credits scene introducing a new character from the games, just like Tails at the end of Sonic 1 and Shadow at the end of Sonic 2. I hope it's Amy, it's been long enough without her and she really should be next in line.

So, the leaks regarding the extreme gear were true. It looks interesting at least but it is a bit disappointing that they didn't go back to having other SEGA characters too. Perhaps it's too early to say though, maybe they'll pull a Riders and have at least a few as unlockable characters.

Also nice to see Cream back as well as Sage getting added. And no Zavok in sight so far.

About that...

“According to SEGA's own press release on Sonic Racing Crossworlds, the game will feature characters from other SEGA titles as well.”

Pretty nice, I must say.

EDIT: Also, Zavok is there.

That's much more definitive. Looking forward to seeing who actually makes it in then.
Well, so far, the list Mamboo07 Mamboo07 posted on who is in is all Sonic characters. The thing about other Sega characters does sound exciting, but with so many characters from the Sonic world, I would like to advise you not to get too excited yet, as we don't know if there will be many Sega characters playable, if any.

Let's just wait until we hear more of the game before unleashing anything close to full excitement.

"If any", right after you posted an article to convince me otherwise? Okaay...

Either way, my expectations are low. I'm going to guess we only get a handful of non-Sonic characters similar to how they handled things in the first two Riders games. We probably won't get the same number or variety as the old All-Stars games. It's pretty clear it's still primarily focused on Sonic, which is fair at least.

Sorry, I was entertaining the possibility that what the article said might end up wrong. I am not thinking it is, but I do think it is best to contain excitement for now, as I did not want to mislead you in case that was wrong.

But yeah, it is good you have low expectations, so there is that.

I would like to say that this has been said.

There will probably be 24 to 32 playable characters in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. It is supposed to have the biggest roster of any Sonic racing game. So much for me trying to make it a good idea to temper expectations on Sega characters, though it can still be done.

slides into your thread like a failed Rocket Accel

Alright. So we've gotten two remasters of 2010s-era Sonic games. Sonic Colors Ultimate, and Sonic x Shadow Generations.

This means that, potentially, we'll be seeing a Lost World remaster in the near future.

Since SxSG had some great new content, my hope is that a SLW remaster will have a new story of its own, featuring more of the Deadly Six and showing more of who they are and what they do.

The Deadly Six in general are comfort characters for me - I'd go so far as to say Zeena is my favorite character of all time, at least right now - but outside of the IDW comics, Sega hasn't really been using them to their full potential. Zavok is the only one who has had much of an impact, and even then questionably so given his bad reputation among Sonic fans. Which is really unfortunate, cuz the Deadly Six have huge potential in general. They're members of a new alien species we haven't seen before, inhabiting their own world and they seem to be a very tightly-knit unit (Zavok even refers to them as his 'brothers'). I think they have potential to have a lot of fun character dynamics with each other, which we didn't really get to see in SLW. A remaster with a new storyline is something I think the Deadly Six could really benefit from.

I'm curious to see what that storyline could feature. Maybe a favorite Sonic character will star in it, like Shadow in the SxSG extra content.
I'm putting my money on Amy. She's gonna feature in the next Sonic movie, and thus like how SxSG gave Shadow a time to shine before he featured in Sonic 3, I think a SLW Remaster would do a similar thing for Amy.

Anyway, you may now throw your tomatoes at me.

I shared this in the General Social Thread already, but I decided I would share this here too: it's an idea for what a Deadly Six spinoff game would look like. SuperSonicFlyer already saw this, so I'm curious to see what you guys think as well.
The game takes on a traditional 3D platformer style much like a classic Rareware game. Essentially, where Yooka-Laylee was a modern spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, this Deadly Six game would be a modern spiritual successor to Donkey Kong 64 - BUT would improve on the aspects DK64 gets reamed over.

At any time, you can swap between the six different D6 members to traverse the expansive levels. Every D6 member has some standard capabilities. They can run and jump, of course, and also break into a sprint to get around faster (though not Sonic levels of fast...usually), and allow them to jump further too. They also have a selection of melee attacks where they use their horns, claws and tails. Most interestingly though, they share the ability to use their electromagnetic field manipulation to form a shield to deflect or move projectiles fired at them by enemies. They can't use this constantly obviously - even a Zeti's gotta take a breather occasionally, so you'll need to keep their electromagnetic abilities charged by pulling a Spyro and smacking up small critters to absorb their nutrients.

Additionally, each member of the Deadly Six has unique powers for fighting and traversing the levels. While playing as them, you'll also find unique food items to replenish their health if need be.
  • Zavok can send out powerful heated energy balls. While slow, they are mighty and have limited homing capabilities. His heat-energy projectiles can also be useful for lighting fuses and enabling heat-powered mechanisms for progressing through the levels. He can also grow in size to several different extents, making him a bigger target but also allowing him to pick up and throw smaller enemies into each other or into switches, as well as reach higher positions. (This was Cutie Gwen's idea.) While playing as him, you'll find seared steak as health replenishment.
  • Zazz, being the group speedster, can break out into a "Super Sprint" after sprinting for long enough. In this state, Zazz can electrify his body, becoming impervious to melee attacks and being able to damage foes simply by running into them. He can also smash through certain barriers in this state. While playing as him, you'll find giant hot chili peppers as health replenishment.
  • Zomom is surprisingly athletic and is a good climber - he can climb up most, if not all, different walls and surfaces. He can even throw his sandwich at enemies, and it'll come back to him like a boomerang! He'll also be able to create giant shockwaves by performing body slams. He can knock out foes around him and even break through certain floors. While playing as him, you'll find turkey drumsticks as health replenishment.
  • Master Zik is accompanied by his trusty stick. It has LOTS of uses. He can use it as a powerful weapon and also to guard himself from melee attacks (essentially Master Zik is who you play as if you're a hack and slash fan). He can also throw it into a wall and use it as a pole to perch on or swing around to traverse the world around him. While playing as him, you'll find various fruits as health replenishment.
  • The ever-charming Zeena is able to use her electromagnetic powers to create tractor beams to lift objects. She can use these as a mace to swing around at foes, or to move them around for puzzles. She's also highly athletic. Of the Six she's the best of traversing icy surfaces, she can spin her tail around like a helicopter to help her jump around and slow her descent, and she's skilled at parkour, being able to jump between and run along walls. While playing as her, you'll find plates of yummy spaghetti as health replenishment.
  • The enigmatic Zor can summon a temporary shadow double to fight alongside him. These shadow doubles will also be able to sense where secrets are in the level. Additionally he can send shadowy-construct-bat-things to attack foes from a distance. He's also capable of gliding for long distances, making him by far your best option for jumping over particularly long gaps. While playing as him, you'll find delicious pineapple pizza as health replenishment!
Along the Zeti's many travels, they'll meet lots of aliens who will provide them help along the way, either by giving them advice or offering special goodies that can help you out in return for a few Rings you've collected. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to fight an invading alien force causing trouble in the galaxy - and they're targeting the Lost Hex next! Progress the game by collecting Red Rings to help the Deadly Six's friends expand their armory and prepare to launch a counter-attack against the invaders. Additionally, seek out the special Blue Rings to fight each level's boss, and search for the special Red, Pink, Yellow, Blue, Green and White Flickies to help each individual Zeti become more powerful!

The worlds the Zeti travel through are set in the solar system the Sonic games take place in. Along with the Lost Hex itself, which acts as your hub level, levels will include Planet Wisp and many other planets - a tropical world, a prehistoric world, an ancient temple world, a spooky horror world and more. There are also side missions to accomplish such as races with NPC aliens, timed collection missions and even segments where the gang hops on one of Zavok's mechanical dragons and fly through space to fight alien fleets.

And for an extra blast of fun, there's also options for multiplayer! Play with up to three other people to traverse the worlds together, or compete against each other in minigames.
