I have the Wii version of this game , even if definitely inspired from Mario Kart , I find it much less frustrating lol

While I need to keep playing it... I'm impressed so far. Good course designs, sharp controls and an interesting cast are making this pretty **** fun to play. Haven't played as him yet but apparently Shadow's supposed to be the best character. :chuckle:

Shadow, Ryo, Bonanza Bros. <3, and Alex Kidd <3<3<3<3<3, are supposed to be the best, or where the last time I checked.

That said, Sonic is amazing on time trials XD.

It's funny to me how good this game's ended up. Items may be a little underpowered at times as far as getting you up into the lead but the driving makes up for it entirely. I'm not sure where the characters are going to end up as time goes on but for now, a lot of them are fun to play.

Nope.

Punching Glove - Like the green shells, can bound off walls and smack other racers.
Rockets - Like the red shells, home in on other racers. They aren't as long range as you think.
Bombs - Toss them forward, they blow up after a short amount of time if they don't hit anything first.
Cones - Like bananas, make your racer spin out for a moment. This, the rockets, the bombs and the gloves also come in 3's.
Big Rocket - You fire it, it slowly travels up until you manually detonate it.
Disorienting Star - Homes in on the next racer in line, twists their screen upside down for a few seconds yet controls remain the same. Left still goes left, only now you have to do it upside down.
Rainbow - You leave it behind you, whoever hits it gets a rainbow obstructing their screen for a few seconds.
All-Star - A powerup specific to each character, has different effects for each (Sonic for example goes super and speeds through the track, can ram into people to spin them out).

I'm probably forgetting an item but I don't think so.

Edit:
Power Shield - Protects you from any hazards and items.
Multi-directional Horn - Blasts any nearby racers and spins them out, also can destroy stage hazards.
Speed Boost Shoes - Gives you a boost much like Mushrooms in Mario Kart. Can come in 3's.

Told ya I'd forgotten one, haha.

The sheild and the horn?

I think a blue shell item wouldve been nice BUT only slowing you down for a few seconds NOT BLOWING YOU MILLIONS OF FEET IN THE AIR making you lose 1000 VR in Mario Kart.

The game is not addicting but I like it more than MK. They should improve the online

Anyone see these articles?

I really don't understand why a devianart member wouldn't be
overjoyed their art was used in a real game, regardless if somehow one of the designers confused Sonia with Amy, and forgot to remove this placeholder art
since it basically acknowledges that big name companies actually have taken notice to the fanart community, just like they have with the video game music arrangment community at OCRemix.

There's Metal Sonic. I knew they couldn't release this game without putting him in in some capacity. The cycle is now complete, I don't even care who gets added from now on. METAL SONIC.

I hope they release that track for DLC on the Wii. If it doesn't become available I'm not getting the game since I'd wait till I got one of the other systems then.

Almost 2 year old bump, but a possible sequel / port with even more characters/stages has been confirmed.

A follow up to Sega's answer to Mario Kart will reportedly be launched this year...

Sega found moderate success when it released Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing on virtually every platform under the sun in 2010, so it comes as little surprise to hear that the publisher is preparing a sequel to the kart-racing game.

Kotaku is reporting that a Sega rep confirmed the development of a follow-up at the Toy Fair in New York. Little else was confirmed, other than it is planned for a release at the end of the year and that new characters and vehicles will be disclosed in the coming months.

A sequel was pertained to last-month in an oddly-flavoured rumour that suggested the game was in development for 3DS, Wii U and Sony's Vita handheld. No platforms were mentioned in the latest report, but the original racer hit both Wii and DS, so it's probably safe to say Nintendo fans will be well-covered in the event of a follow-up.

We're awaiting an official confirmation from Sega on the game, so stay tuned.

I was mislead by the thread title. For a moment there, I thought a TRUE Banjo Kazooie sequel was announced. :(

Can't wait I loved the first one and it looks even better than the first. Also, there is a good chance it will come to Wii U which is good, I will be very happy if it does come to Wii U.
