And I guess I'll be him. =/

In case you didn't realize, the competetive drive for SWF in the pokecenter is dead. Hopefully I can revive it, and tell you people why you can't win at pokemon.

Lets start it simple:

What is the object to a pokemon battle?

You... are absolutely right. I just re-read the team I posted a while ago, and realised it just does not want to win.

@ Ter: I don't remember myself ever shaking-up the SWF Pokemon metagame. And I miss the "era."

Stay a while, Articanus.

Hm? I never said anything about the SWF Pokemon metagame. I just stated that me, you, Articanus, and Jpp8 are still here from he "era."

That's possibly worded better than I would have done so.

Next Question:

How do you accomplish this?

This answer is a bit less obvious.

The more generic the better by the way! Think simple stupid!

'Scuse me, how can you just come in here and tell us that the thread is dying/dead? Of course it is, the only reason it's still alive is because of people like Me, Firus, bowser, Pink Reaper, ORly, Mewter, Koarin, zrky, Skyler, and majora. I don't see YOU posting alot here, so don't you dare say "Let me spell it out for you" ever again to me.

Don't be a jerk, MK. He was saying that the COMPETITIVE aspect of the Poke Center was dead. He said nothing of the casual aspect, which we represent. I don't think he was trying to be rude, just pointing out that anybody who has an interest in competitive Pokemon needs to make the effort to keep that part of the section alive.

What's the point of this?

I mean, seriously. Yes, competitivity is dying, but how is asking us what the point of the game accomplishing anything?

Well if you don't want to be involved in the thread, you guys can leave. This is directed towards the few competitive players here in the PC, and quite frankly I'm enjoying it despite the fact that it's slightly obvious and weird. Lol, if you don't like Mr. Ocon I won't use it btw. So anywho lets stop derailing the thread.

I AM a competitive player, but this thread simply makes no sense. How is saying how to win going fix the problem?

He was doing that to make a point. Hardly anybody in the PC has an interest in competitive Pokemon and he doesn't like that. He wants to get everybody who IS to start trying to focus on that.

And, use Mr. Ocon if you want. I don't care.

You do so by attacking your foe, Via indirect damege or Direct damege. Luck plays parts, so It is possible for each side to win.

Mr. Ocon is an intelligent old young man. There is a purpose to this thread, and over time were going to get harder questions thus helping our brain develop towards a more competitive side of Pokemon. By continuously practicing this technique (known as "competitiveness") we could perticipate in tourneys or we could keep this knowledge and take advantage when facing friends/family. We will be opening our branches, reaching a new part of the PC, the Pokemon Counter Game.

As you can see this thread, in time, is helping you.

The most important aspect of competitive is what roles the team members will play.

For example, a balance of sweepers, tanks/walls, supporters.

I would be more competitive, if there were more tournaments and stuff in our area, or if my parent's would take me but that's it

That was the answer.

Now how do you NOT get hit in pokemon(it IS possible, and don't say something stupid like brightpowder, shedinja, or Sand Veil)?

Edit: There is a point to this that will come eventually.
Guys, this is simple: Hit them first and hard. Anybody with a basic knowladge of sweepers should know this.

It's not like Brawl where anyone can win. It depends solely on luck and who happens to have the better team in that situation.
