In other timelines, The Lich has spared beings who were either undead, or lacked both Souls and any traces of organic components, such as true robots-

-Had he been planning on betraying these five, it would be far more obvious. But he doesn't see a need to eliminate lifeforms that technically aren't "alive" in the traditional sense-

I'll leave..." Professor Herringbone tries to remain supportive of him, however, semi-awkwardly telling him ""Leave"? Oh, no, no, no, no. It's true, your energy can be a bit...disruptive, but it's a good disruption!"-

-While Sprig reacts with confusion to that answer, Professor Herringbone continues to to explain "And, since this is going to be such a project, we are starting early. No waiting for next semester." He then chuckles before finishing his explanation to state "No, no, no, no. Tomorrow, you officially start as a student of Newtopia University!", much to Sprig's shock-

The first is the power to get around events which I like to call unchanging fates. To keep it simple, while mortals do have control over their own destiny the vast majority of the time, an unchanging fate is an event which is so fundamentally important to the stability of the timeline or one where the odds will always be against you that you cannot alter its outcome. A fate that cannot be changed.

As an example, the moment Minou's mother became a Witch, she became fated to die at the hands of a Magical Girl, as this seems to be how your world works. You could delay it all you want, but eventually she will die at the hands of one.

As you might assume, that would means my power is to prevent these kinds of events... that would be wrong. As I said, nothing can change these events from playing out. However, as long as these events go through as they should, the outcome doesn't matter and that part is what I can change with my powers.

The very last person who used my powers managed to survive an encounter with the one I'm trying to kill thanks to them, turning her unchanging fate of always dying to that demon into one where she always survives, as it would bring her back to life the moment she would be successfully killed. The unchanging fate is always met but the outcome changes in a way that nullifies it while still carrying through, so the timeline remains stable.

This power only works when the user actually meets a fate they cannot change. If the outcome was preventable, it will never activate. But that's where my second power comes in. A power to bring up one's fullest potential. The power of Awakening.

By using built-up energy and unleashing it on their own being, one who Awakens will enter a temporary state where they are able to use their abilities without any need for preparation or focus while also increasing the potency of weaker attacks. In addition, the concept of death no longer applies to them as long as this state remains. However, anything powerful enough to drain all that built-up energy will end that state early, so the strongest powers cannot be used repeatedly.

Treading quickly but carefully, Sprig only runs whenever the searchlights are out of his path, and jumping behind a few statues to avoid them, and then a bench as well. He even confidently lays back on the bench while shouting "Nailed it!"-

-Then the camera scrolls up to show a female security asking "Hey, did you just hear someone yell, "Nailed it"? A male security guard agrees and shouts "Release the weevils!" ...Which turn out to be weevils the size of large-dogs and function like a pack of K-9s, quickly finding and chasing after a now panicking Sprig-

No one has ever evaded campus security before. The offer of admission...still stands."-
