This could potentially be a lie in of itself to further hide his true idenity, wh-whatever it would be...B-But fairies are also infamous for being tricksters, s-so it's entirely possible that he's at least telling the truth about his claim to royalty, because being a "Pretender" Class would be perfectly consistent with common fairy behavior...

Tell me, at least your own rationale, what is the purpose of preserving and maintaining the universe...if you have to destroy so much of it in the process?

Judging by how I've seen humans and similar races evolve elsewhere, the more likely possibility is that your species merely sped up a process that would've happened regardless. The very fact that you can't see that even after what I can presume is so much time that has passed, nor have ever thought to try any other methods to sustain the universe and fight off this entropy through the infinite potential of magic, proves your methods as...Inefficient. Counterproductive, as a matter of fact..

Unsurprising, given how little you've actually accomplished as mages beyond creating vicious cycles of death and destruction, as well making yourselves theoretically invincible through backup forms...
