He tries to tell her to stop and drive back, even repeatedly yelling at her that it's an order, but Ripley, refusing to risk leaving any more of those marines behind, outright ignores him, and Burke even shoves him out of the way, telling Gorman he's head his chance-

-As Ripley drives the APC towards the power station room, the marines continue to fire their weapons off at the alien swarm, with several being shown getting torn up by gunfire or spattering their acidic blood across the area as the marines continue to fall back, with Drake and Vasquez fighting alongside each other on the frontlines while the others make some distance, Hicks and Hudson providing support fire-

-Vasquez and Drake soon run out of ammunition, so they drop their pulse rifles and start firing off their flamethrowers as they fall back further towards the APC, Hicks helping everyone onboard while Drake stays behind to buy the other some time, even while Hicks calls everyone to the APC, holding the aliens off with his flamethrower. Barely any aliens are heard making sounds, making it clear that the majority of the swarm is either falling back as well or approaching them where they can't easily be spotted-

-At some point while Drake is firing flames into the power station, another alien hiding amongst the pipes and debris rises up near him and prepares to attack, prompting Vasquez to call out to him and fire some bullets at the alien. She shreds the alien with only a few shots, but this causes it's acidic blood to spray around, some of which hits Drake and leaves the left half of his face severally burnt and partly melted, in-turn causing him to collapse. Vasquez can only shout a drawn out "NO!" in horror before trying to reach him-

-The fact that she hasn't shown more signs of PTSD is a testament to her mental and emotional strength...But it's clear she's still got some trauma and guilt left over from those they couldn't save-

-That's not even going into the emotional rollercoaster she's gone on concerning her feelings for Rose, something they don't even know much about-

-Vasquez tries to run after Drake, and insists he's still heading towards the APC, but Hicks, knowing they can't possibly get to or help Drake at this point, regrettably has to hold her back, and when Vasquez keeps arguing, desperately insisting that he's still okay, Hicks has to shout in her face to forget him and that he's gone in order to convince her to save herself. He throws a grenade out near the entrance to the station shortly thereafter, in order to buy themselves some more time-

-Just as Hicks tries shutting the doors to the APC, however, an alien shoves both of it's claws between the doors and sticks it's head in, keeping them from shutting the entrance as it tries to make it's way in-

-But does that mean Rose met Pearl during the war...? Was she fighting a separate rebellion beforehand? Or was whoever her former master was just someone who treated her horribly?-

-Hicks can only shout "Ripley! Let's go!" to signal her to drive again and make the escape as they shut the door, and Ripley immediately starts backing the APC out of the room while Hicks tends to Hudson and Gorman tries to put out a fire on the APC's roof with a fire extinguisher-
