Sprig thinks they could make their lives easier by training the cow-like caterpillars on the farm to eat the weeds for them, and asks Hop Pop if they can do just that, but he doesn't address the issue immediately and instead tells him to write all suggestions in the suggestion barrel, which is located outside...and is dirty and surrounded by flies-

-While Sprig still writes the suggestion down, Polly claims that Hop Pop never even reads these suggestions, having suggested adding a swimming pool that never got made months ago, herself-
