-Next episode starts with Emilia and Subaru having to say their goodbyes to Crusch as they must return to Roswaal. Crusch says that they are always welcome to stay, and Emilia is grateful, but right now they need to return the villagers to their home-

-Crusch says she can't show her gratitude enough, Subaru assures her it's fine as they already got a reward as he petted Patrasche, who he was allowed to keep. Patrasche being affectionate nuzzled against her owner, though Subaru yelps saying that her scales are rougher than expected, Emilia and Crusch giggled-

-Felix came out the cart Rem was in, saying he tucked her secured, and then he tells Subaru he needs to rest his magical gate for tw months, ever sine he fought Petelgeuse it's been a little weird, so he recommends he rests it for two months, with him hoping nothing happens then-

Everyone: Oh something will happen.

-He realizes and says "wait, did I just jinx myself?!"-

Everyone: "YES YOU DID!"

Subaru sees this as a victory and yells to the ceiling his efforts are paying him now, she's like "what you talking of?" though she brings up she knows he's so worried for this girl, he doesn't needs to hide it. Subaru says she's right... She says she's important to him, right? He replies that yes, equally as important as her, she says he's being selfish, he admits it and feels scummy, but it's the truth-

-Awkward silence... Until Otto interrupts asking if they were speaking of him-

-Subaru says not really... Then he asks if Otto's been listening the whole time, which well, he can't deny and says it's because he's driving this, Subaru says "yeah I know you're here to negotiate with Roswaal and Emilia, I haven't forgot that" in a teasing manner before closing the window while Otto was saying his life depends on t- Aaand closed. Both Subaru and Emilia stay in silence for some seconds, before laughing it off-

He assures he it's fine, she'll find a way to do it some day, for now they'll bring the villagers back to their homes and hope Roswaal knows anything of Rem's condition. Soon they are there-

-Both are confused though, Ram and the others were meant to be at a sanctuary from which they haven't returned from yet... Nor do they know where it is. And to be honest, Emilia doesn't knows much of it either, just that Roswaal mentioned it was like a secret base, she apologized on it, but Subaru assures her he should have asked him too. So they decide to head back to the mansion, Subaru inviting Otto who is utterly nervous to meet Roswaal. When they get there, Subaru is carrying Rem on his back, and both make their way to the entrance, with Subaru realizing... The entire staff should be gone-

Medea: "Okay, so they must be stablishing the setting the season will go for..."

-Emilia says Beatrice stayed, so she might answer the door, Subaru thinking she might burst in just to see Puck. She then tries to check on him... Weirdly he didn't respond from the jewel he always rests in. In either case they knock the door, and someone does, a blonde woman with sharp teeth who bowed to Emilia saying she awaited her return, Emilia yells "Frederica?!" to which she replies yes, it is her, the maid that was seen for some seconds in Rem's flashbacks of her past in season 1-

-She tells him to get to the point, so he says that he's heard from someone that she can read Roswaal pretty well, Beatrice figures it was Frederica who she calls a demi-human. She admits she's right to an extent, but she has nothing to do with the current state of affairs, Subaru asks if she has countermeassures to protect the mansion, she says she is the countermeassures, but admits she's not sure what Roswaal is up to now, Subaru wonders if Roswaal would just really face the Cult with no plan... Then he decided to ask about and pulled out Petelgeuse's Gospel, to her shock, asking where he got it-

-He says what happened and that he killed him... Saddened, Beatrice looks at it and whispered "So you too have left me behind, Geuse..."-

That embarrassed Emilia as Subaru says "w-what you told her about me?!" and she insisted it was not like that, Frederica apologizes. Emilia tries to change topic, but Otto says he heard it all too and it made him think that Subaru must be more amazing than he looks, embarrassing them further as Subaru laments he wasn't there to hear-

-Now they must discuss how to not arrive at a dead end, saying it's one thing to get to Beatrice, it's different to get her to talk. Emilia has been asking Frederica about the sacntuary's location, Subaru remembering Beatrice said she can guide them. While Frederica says she's usually reserved on this, she couldn't againt Emilia's persistence, but she needs to have two days to prepare them. She'll stay at the mansion, so Subaru asks how they'll get there, Ott smirks saying he's slow... Subaru gets it, Otto will bring them there... -She asks him if he's ready to go, he says yeah and compliments her on using that uniform. Walking down the hallway he's thankful she's come to help in the mansion given Frederica handled everything before, though he's a little concerned due to her age, but she assures him she'l be fine, she's 12 years old so she should be able to work now... Before she corrects herself saying she should be a working adult, and she'd appreciate if she's seen as such. He says that if she learns to talk more politely he will. He suddenly stops at the last door he could access Beatrice's library from, but it isn't there-

-He sighs on how persistent she can be while hiding. Petra asks if there's really a secret library around and he affirms so, he asks that if she bumps randomly into her to take care of her too... She asks if that isn't asking too much of her, he realized that and apologized, but she chuckled and told him she'll make sure to give it time, and he thanks her-
