It's worth mentioning that discussing terrible people like Hitler/Stalin/Putin/whoever is allowed though, as long as it's appropriate and not something offensive (ala "hitler did the world a favor" etc etc).

Stalin was a left wing dictator, whatever that appropriate word actually is. At that 'extreme' area of the political spectrum, there really are little differences on both sides; all about conquering/spreading doctrine, kill local enemies and enemies from afar + cult of personality.

I'm actually mildly annoyed at Putin implications though. Iono about what western indoctrination you have, but not wanting Russian ethnic groups to be disenfranchised by an ethnic minority seems like something all your lovable US Presidents, British Prime Ministers and German Chancellors are all about. *cough* Iraq/Syria/"Cold War RED INVASIONS"

I wouldn't put it past Putin for evil worldly ambitions, but god damn is the media / political bias from western governments a little sickening. The United States (and the British Empire post WWI, but America was still a major player) drew borders throughout Asia minor and Eastern Europe on strategic lines only ("Oh, we don't want Turkey to control this area that has been otherwise within its borders culturally for 2000 years, let's just make (redefine) a buffer state called IRAQ, IT'LL BE FINE"), and **** is hitting the fan all over because of it. The scenario does lead to dicators, war, attrocities, genocide; but I find it very naive for people to think its all one-sided/out of no where.

Also, Mic, if you are looking at this, I don't dislike you as a person or for what you have done for smashboards in general. It's just this forum. I mean seriously, go check out the odd posts that have gone here for the past 50 pages. This section of the board is literally filled with trolls playing an 18 year old game as you noted. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

but id be willing to be mod temporarily if Sangoku came back. I pm'd him before he left and he told me he couldn't take any breaks. He's forced to assign someone else to watch over the section if he wants to leave. Aero came and people went into a panic tantrum (though he did close some threads he didn't need to close).

I'd rather have Sangoku stay, but couldn't there be two mods so that he could take some days off?

SanGoku is a an OK mod, but seems to take the job too seriously, and it looks like he took it personally whenever someone disagreed with his position. He finally snapped unfortunately.

I think Sedda would be a good mod as he seems kinda laid back and would let most of the trivial stuff go, whereas 99% of mods go full-hitler whenever the tiniest rule is broken, like a new person double posting occasionally. They don't seem to get that having the power to do something doesn't mean you always should.
