Honestly that terminology doesn't sound that conclusive. It's a hit, but Sakurai could very well just be keeping the surprise cause why would you confirm there's gonna be two reveals rather than leaving it ambiguous? Perhaps I'm just being optimistic.

Banjo. I don’t think Erdrick is coming and if he was I don’t think he’d be the only character revealed at E3. If we were only getting one, it’s gotta be someone bigger. If we get two, and Erdrick shadow drop and teaser of three 3 is entirely possible. After all that’s still only one fighter released fully.

The time constraint of 2020 February doesn't allow 'only' one to be shown off.


Do I think one will be revealed and released soon? Absolutely.


But a TEASER for 3 is very likely imo.

At this point, who knows. Pretty sure the initial schedule that we created in our heads told us we would've know who DLC character #2 is by Joker's second trailer. Apparently, it just takes longer to create a character than we thought.

On a similar topic, this slow speed of reveals makes me think a second pass is unlikely.

Right now I think it's reasonable to believe either scenario (he only mentioned DLC fighter 2, but that doesn't necessarily exclude a second reveal+the supposed insider leaks of two characters), we'll know Monday at the earliest at least.

Honestly if we don't get Erdrick then I have no idea what's going on with the Square stuff.

I don't think it's about Sakurai being a troll, but rather how Japanese doesn't have plural nouns, so there could be, but it's not 100% guaranteed, a translation error.

After all, they mistranslated one instance of "Special" into "Ultimate" in the August 8 Direct despite it not being a pun on the game's title.
