At this point, who knows. Pretty sure the initial schedule that we created in our heads told us we would've know who DLC character #2 is by Joker's second trailer. Apparently, it just takes longer to create a character than we thought.

On a similar topic, this slow speed of reveals makes me think a second pass is unlikely.

So lemme put it this way.

If it takes about 6 months to make a character, then there's zip, zero, zilch, nada way they can make it to Feb2020 unless they work on more than 1 at a time.


Them's just cold, hard facts, the passage of time doesn't allow for it.


We know Brave's been worked on for as long as Joker was, it's foolish to assume that they only work on one character at a time when, they legitimately can't to reach the deadline they themselves set up.

If people were talking up Erdrick more heading into E3? I'd expect him.

However? I'm feeling this is going to be a Banjo showing, with Erdrick being some weird ass fluke. This would be two great times he'd have missed to reveal him. He had a carpet rolled out in a direct and was a no show. Now a big ass gaming event and he's the lesser of the two talked about potentials at the moment.

Things don't look good for him IMO.

Definitely doesn't disconfirm him, but it does imply some sort of timeline changing if you assume Brave = Erdrick.

Character development pipelines for fighting games are rarely set up to be a single character at a time. You'd normally have multiple smaller teams working on a character, say a designer and a couple animators and a software engineer to help with any needs. The main thing is that VFX and SFX tend to be made near the end of a development pipeline for a character, and character modeling/rigging need to be done before any animation can happen. But they can probably prototype characters pretty quick by kitbashing animations/move behavior that exists in the game already.

Sure. I don't even play much Smash. I'd love another well executed 3D platformer. Assuming it's well done of course. I'd hope for a looot of differences between the OG banjo games and a new one to be up to modern game standards.

Except you keep stringing on the worst kept secret. At what point does he not be disconfirmed? He has no mumblings about an E3 appearance. He's beem mostly ''hearsay." with no real back up. He missed out a rolled out carpet about his home series in a Direct. He'd miss a big gaming show potentially.

He'd be known longer than any DLC character in history without being revealed. That is not a good look for likelyhood and if you think anything else. You're just kind of deluding yourself. This is make or break for him. He needs to show SOONER rather than LATER.

If there was some sort of plan or work on him that revealed him to leakers? He'd be near completion at this point otherwise he'd be the most extensive character in Smash history.

The longer it goes without him showing? The worse it gets for his likelyhood and he's already in a pretty ''Where is he?" situation heading into E3.

Guys relax, if you have two characters to reveal in an event obviously you will say that you have one character to don't spoil the surprise. I'm not saying there will be two characters (hm... in fact yes I'm really thinking we will get two cause Brave is in the files for a long time and Banjo get leaked and teased by many over and over for this E3) but the fact is that what Sakurai just said don't change anything for us cause never he would have said "hey guys we will show you TWO characterZ tuesday bye !"

I’m also in the boat that if Erdrick isn’t at E3 he’s not in period.

The main points for him reside in him being brave and if someone else is revealed as fighter two then that’s it no Erdrick imo.

The blufever leaks marked **** for FFXIV one year in advance, you can get info from a longtime before any reveal. I don;t think that there's 0 chance for him to be leakbait but its premature to think about it as 100 percent leakbait until the end of the DLC cycle.
