Speaking of SS: have your favourites been confirmed yet?

Out of all the pokémon I like, the Gardevoir, Galvantula, Hydreigon and Roserade lines have been confirmed.
I'm still waiting for Cofagrigus and Scrafty but neither of them are that popular so I'm not holding out hope
Then again we got ****in Maractus so

No Pokemon I like all that much have been confirmed with exception of Pikachu, but that was kinda a given.

Oh that’s right, Three Houses is supposed to be out soon. I hope it’s better than the 3DS games, for the sake of the people who bought it.

Now that I think of it, and in the risk of sounding like a hypocrite for not liking unpopular opinion threads, I want to say that I get why Megas, Z-Moves and the overall amount of pokémon are getting removed from this game.

The competitive scene was already messy with monsters like Landorus-Therian or Heatran around, and with stat boosts and deadly moves on top of it, it really just boils down to a broken competition.

Of course, that doesn't mean that limiting pokémon is a good thing, since these games should always be "catch first, fight second" and not the other way around, but from a competitive standpoint, I can get why it may be necessary to do something like that.

With SwSh not bringing back all Pokémon, Mega Evolutions, and Z-Moves, I wonder if Pokémon Showdown is going to do anything to "fix" it.

Like maybe make a battle format that combines the assets of both generations 7 and 8?

Dragonite seems very likely, Kabutops has Gen 1 privileges and I feel like fossilmon will be an all or nothing thing and Flygon's confirmed. As for the rest, Hitmonlee and Steelix are apparently in, but I don't have high hopes for Xatu or Sudowoodo. Who knows about Banette and Crawdaunt. But at least Slowking seems likely as it evolves from a Gen 1 one, and a fairly popular one at that.

I wonder how they’d do that without there being an art style mismatch since the gen 8 models would look a bit different from the 3DS ones due to different shaders, even if they’re mostly the same models.

If that were the only reason, they could simply limit what Pokémon are allowed in competitive without having to cut them from the game outright. Numerous official online tournaments have already made use of restrictions on which Pokémon can be used, so they could theoretically more carefully craft a list of allowed Pokémon and stick with it.

Dunno. Maybe rip the models and alter them to mimic a single artstyle/lighting?

I know you're all having fun right now. But it's really REALLY scary right now for the entertainment industry. Disney's on the verge of owning nearly everything in the industry. And they plan to buy more companies right now. Creativity is in danger.
Who are they looking to buy now?

What kind of pokemon aren't allowed?

Re: the Sabi screenshot. She's just theorizing due to no Famitsu column about it planned, nothing official. I still think it is this week.
