God, I do wish Nintendo had more competent online services. I basically end up treating every game outside of Splatoon 2 as offline only, and that's a real shame given how great Nintendo online could be if they invested in proper infrastructure and also built their games to be more pleasant online experiences with proper quality of life tweaks. Even Splatoon 2 infuriates me with how it restricts Salmon Run to every other day (Why?) and doesn't go through any sort of proper lobby system that lets you customize weapons while waiting or vote on maps and forces everything into two hour rotations. Plus, the game not supporting Cloud Saves because it saves Online Rankings game side and not server side is beyond dumb.

I really had hopes that Nintendo would at least do something now that they're charging for online, but Tetris 99 and a handful of NES games that relatively few people are interested in playing aside, I feel like they've done nothing for the Switch Online ecosystem. Maybe the Switch Lite will at least come with an update that lets us have freaking folders on the Switch home screen and maybe Netflix lol.

My first and so far only non event shiny catch

Was just minding my own business, then BAM! there it was.

Wasn't shiny hunting or anything, just popped up on it's own.

after putting up a tough fight, I finally caught it and nicknamed it "Shiny"

If we are counting event Pokémon, then my Shiny Genesect. It was a Japan exclusive one time event, and I was able to get it in a trade. Once I traded it for a Pokémon I didn’t really care about, but the other trader did, I checked if it was legit. Sure enough, it was.

my first shiny was a rattatat in FireRed that I caught before I even knew shinies existed

In Y I intentionally caught a shiny Talonflame in the friend safari

I am apparently incapable of getting shiny forms of pokemon that are actually interesting

I caught a shiny Ralts in Alpha Sapphire. My only shiny I have gotten from wild Pokémon at the time of this post (I was shiny hunting after watching a guide and using the search wild Pokémon feature).

I already had Gardevoir, so I evolved it into Gallade.

I decided to trade it as I wanted other ‘mons I thought I couldn’t get, and didn’t care as much about Gallade, so I ignorantly thought I could get a legendary or mythical or something (which was why I was shiny hunting; I really wanted Jirachi...which I now have thanks to the year of mythicals) and just ended up giving it away for a Munna.

A Munna.

I like Munna but for a shiny? And I could’ve just gotten it from one of the islands, anyway...

What’s wrong with me...

My only other shiny was the mystery gift Beldum I evolved into Metagross (and kept).

I did a lot of shiny hunting “back in the day” so I’ll share some of mine.

1. Full odds, random encounter, no soft resets Landourus
2. Random encounter Fearow
3. 2nd Horde Hunt Vanniluxe
4. Perfect nature... Something... At least I think it was perfect nature.

The only shinies that I've captured in Pokémon that weren't freebies are Honedge and Bergmite, both of which captured in X with just a Quick Ball.

I’m not sure how you get it in the game. Your better off looking up a guide.

Only shiny I’ve ever caught was this beauty:

I was in Sky Pillar in OR simply grinding for levels to evolve Pokémon in order to complete the Pokédex, when I stumbled upon this one Mawile. Don’t worry, I caught it.

I mean, they kind of already are. We've got LoZ, AC, and Splatoon so far, and those are three of Nintendo's biggest properties. It's only a matter of time until we get Captain Falcon or Fox or dare I dream, Pikachu.

Technically, you can port the rigs and meshes to different engines.

I don’t just want guest characters in Mario Kart though. I want it straight up all-star Smash themed.
