masuda sir they're angry over the national dex!
hahaha, add it in i guess
but masuda, we'd need to delay the game to do that at this point!
hahaha, i never said it had to be this game

POKEMON SHINING SWORD AND SHINING SHIELD, NOW WITH EXCLUSIVE NEW POKEMON AND EVERY POKEMON IS HERE! NOW FOR SEVENTY DOLLARS EVEN THOUGH WE JUST RELEASED THE FIRST TWO GAMES LITERALLY ONE YEAR AGO. JUST BUY THE PRODUCT.

imagine buying sword and shield instead of waiting for the inevitable third game / sequel titles in the same generation / sequel that retcons the previous games and this one is totally the real deal story with exclusive new pokemon give us extra money please / previous gen remake that just rehashes the current gen gimmicks with slight tweaks and improvements

man i shouldnt be up this late
I mean they haven't really done this since gen 4. Black/White and Black/White 2 are both different enough to justify purchases of both. XY got nothing, and USUM is a mixed bag; gameplay is generally improved but the story is overall worse.

Oh wait I forgot about the Gen V Sky Drop glitch. So yeah, still major issues.

I said it before but one of my main contention with these kind of movements is how disorganized they become as well as the platforms they normally use, I really believe its a bad way to move the complaints and frankly I see the movement self-imploding way before the release of SwSh (which is sad as I believe a lot of the criticisms are valid).

Social media like Twitter is a fantastic tool to relay information in a quick way, but at the same time there are issues with the information being relayed sometimes too quickly with no way to verify it before publishing it and sometimes the problem is that misinformation becomes widespread or just information fueled by a lot of hate that tends to be followed by lots of people who really don't know what they are yelling about. Just like Brick.

I understand a lot of the Pokemon fanbase sentiments as I would also like all my favorite Pokemon to be available in SwSh and many of the animations really look subpar (Switch level-wise), but given the anger that surrounds the movement it tends to sometimes seem like they are angry at even some of the cool aspects of the game and also they tend to keep shoving the same examples of QUALITY over and over (the Wingull animation is being repeated every single day). This last part is worrisome as these people make the issues seem like the silly puddle controversy in Spiderman for PS4 where people were deliberately just searching for **** to complain about the game.

I understand Masuda doesn't help either due to his comments, either its due to him not being able to reveal a lot of the details of the game at any given time (like Gigantamaxing which seems to replace both Z-moves and Mega-evolutions) or just general incompetence. But seriously the fanbase is losing their heads over this when we are still months before the release of the final game and we're still getting new information regarding SwSh, if we were at one month or less before the release it would be worrisome but right now I kinda want to wait until more information is revealed before getting worried by a lot of the things.

I think that people have a right to complain but at the end, the blind anger regarding the game is only going to start being more notorious the closer we are to the release of the game and more features of the game are revealed. A feature like Gigantamaxing really changes my perception a bit regarding the effort at least the work they are doing regarding the Pokemon in the game, its only going to be known how impactful it is the closer we are to release.

I don't care about Mega Evolutions or Alolan Forms or Superdupermaxing, I just miss old Pokemon getting new evolutions. Despite some good designs, that other stuff feels so ephemeral.

The happiest I've been about Gen 8 so far is hearing that apparently Farfetch'd gets an actual evolution.

My main rule of thumb is to never ever buy any Pokemon game of a new generation the first time. Something will come around as a more complete version eventually, either in a remake where at least I know what I'm buying or a revamped sequel or a sequel that retcons the entire previous experience and invalidates it to rob you of like, 7 pizzas. Masuda has not broken the cycle, and he probably will never. :nifty:

ORAS isn't a replacement for XY though. And Black/White 2 is different enough from Black/White that you could easily justify buying both. Black/White 2 isn't a more "complete" version of Black/White, it's a new game.

Actually it's just regional variants like in Alola if that leak was anything to go buy. Not an evolution, just another quirky quirk. Regional variants are interesting though. Why make new Pokemon when you can just rehash and mold something you already have into something else? That's not bashing on them, that's a genuinely smart idea they did.

ORAS isn't a replacement for XY though.
Yeah but it's the pinnacle Gen 6 experience with the most access of Pokemon at your disposal. At least it was for me, my copy of ORAS is bricked and I have no clue why.

And Black/White 2 is different enough from Black/White that you could easily justify buying both. Black/White 2 isn't a more "complete" version of Black/White, it's a new game.
Yeah, that's what a sequel is. That's why I called it a sequel. :nifty: But B2W2 has special Kyruem forms the OG doesn't and that's a big enough leg up for me.

Finally ordered the Snake/Ivysaur/Squirtle Amiibo. Already got the K. Rool, Ridley, Wolf, and Piranha Plant ones.

Now all that's left are... Simon, Richter, Incineroar, Joker, Banjo-Kazooie, aaaaaaand if they announce another character or two I like.

These Amiibo are really gonna set me back.

most FE games actually do have connections to other games in the series, Fates and Sacred Stones are the only ones that are completely standalone. Three Houses will probably be standalone as well
Well, Fates had connections to other games, its just kinda small..in the DLC 'Before Awakening', they travel to the world of Fire Emblem Awakening, literally right before the start of that game's story, and the Awakening characters comment on Hoshido and Nohr being ancient kingdoms, so Fates takes place in Awakening's past, and thus the past of all games in the Altean world, beyond that, we know that 3 characters from Awakening are undercover in Fates' time and Rhajat mentions how she'll be with Corrin throughout all of time, even when they reincarnate, clearly referencing the character she's a proxy of, Tharja, and Corrin becoming Robin (makes sense, both are avatars).

Only time will tell if Three Houses has ties to other games, even tiny ones, or if it'll be completely stand alone like Sacred Stones. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up having ties to Genealogy of the Holy War considering how much is pulled from it from a gameplay standpoint.

you can get sobble on shodown
Who actually plays little cup on there?

I’m an UU or ransoms guy myself. Random I’d fun because I’ve played it for so long I know most of what my opponent will have and can read their plays like a book. It’s great to see how mad some people get. I respect those that respect my skill on there though, but the showdown community has quite a lot of toxicity. I’ve glad to make quite a few reports

I wish I could go back to not caring what other people think. Back before I joined forums and social media and fandoms. I just take one short glance at Twitter or Reddit and the toxicity I see there is enough to make me feel sick. Then I feel like I take it out on this thread sometimes...

I've said this before but I feel like fandoms sap the fun out of things when they hit their lows. One or two toxic people is enough to make me dread interacting with the entire fandom. And when there's several, it becomes unbearable. I hated being a part of the Smash fandom during the Grinch era. I hate being a part of the Pokemon fandom right now.

Disappointment is one thing, but outrage over silly family games about make-believe monsters just seems so ridiculous to me. And now I'm getting angry over the anger, which I guess is ridiculous in it's own right and I hate that I'm getting so emotional over this.

Maybe I should just avoid talking Pokemon altogether for a while. I know it's just going to get me and others needlessly emotional.
Regardless though I'm just going to use a browser extension to block myself from Twitter, I always seem to run into incredible toxicity there.

Wow, I'm impressed by the Kill la Kill IF game..the demo is on PS4 right now..I'll see how the Switch Demo is next week..but I really enjoyed what I've played so far. I was so afraid that one of my favorite anime's would get a lackluster game..but it seems to have been done very well.

If only I wasn’t so easily affected by the opinions of Internet people

Holy **** I forgot and just remembered all of a sudden. Next year we're finally getting a movie in what is likely my favorite (or second favorite if we count the MCU) film franchise of all time...

RU is my favorite tier, but OU's the one I play the most.

I see, I thought the Awakening stuff was just weird multi-verse shenanigans, didn't realize they were in the same world.

Gets boring when people come up with 500 theories, most of them wack or farfetched, and speculation centers around those theories instead of discussing things outside of those boundaries.

I much prefer speculating about modes, stages, and movesets - the fighter's pass being shown would ideally encourage these, but I know people would focus on "fighter's pass theories!!!|" because someone they wanted didn't make the cut.
I mean. Speculation on the characters is the part that most of us find the most fun.
