I do want to reiterate that I am not saying anyone who is frustrated about the National Dex is a bad person. I would never say it or mean that.

I’m simply saying that while being frustrated is valid, and advocating for change is an awesome thing to do, just to realize that it isn’t the end of the world if it doesn’t.

I personally don’t have much to talk about in regards to Smash at the moment. Hope everyone has been having a good day. It was my last day at school for staff, so tomorrow begins my summer vacation. It’ll be the first summer in like 3 years that I didn’t have either college courses, summer school, or another job soaking up the time, so it’s going to be weird for sure.

You all are just going to have to deal with me more often...i’m sure my girlfriend will be like the parents who can’t wait for their children to go back to school at the end of the summer.

I have a feeling the National Dex issue will be "fixed" somewhere down the line. The main issue here is that people don't know what's gonna happen next and when we'll get some clarification, so all that uncertainty is showing itself as anger and frustration.

As I've said before, try being patient. I know Game Freak isn't giving us the answers when we want them, and while a little frustration is completely understandable, I don't feel like that's an excuse to start rioting. TPC can't even post something on Twitter without 80% of the comments being snarky jabs with #BringBackNationalDex at the end of them.

I actually find the game pretty easy on the Normal difficulty.

It’s mostly a matter of practice and understanding of the game’s mechanics.

I have even seen people who claimed to give certain videos dislikes just to troll the comments pointing the lack of them.

I still don't really understand where downvotes come from.

Our most recent episode by far got the most comments, most views, most likes and most new subscribers of any of our episodes. By all measures it's been a huge hit. Every comment has been positive.

It also has gotten more downvotes in a faster period of time than any of our other episodes.

Like. What compelled these downvotes? If you don't like it, cool, but where did all of you come from? How is it that one of our worst episodes has 18 downvotes and our best has 52?

I was hoping to see K.Rool in SMB1 alongside Eight as amiibo costumes...

Dissapointed when I heard that it wouldn’t be the case this time.

Hopefully they do update amiibo costumes into the game later in the future doh, but we can’t be sure about that.

Eh, I think it’ll be pretty fun.

For me, it's like this: I've been playing Pokemon since 1998. I was in second grade then, now I have a Masters Degree. I usually replay 2-3 Pokemon games a year, in fact I'm almost done with my fourth XY playthrough (and that's my least favorite Pokemon game). I've devoted so many hours to playing, reading, talking about the series. I'm hard pressed to think of any other games that have been such a constant obsession in my life, or any media franchise in general.

But I think I'm just at my saturation point. I'm sure the game will be fine, just not excellent. It'll have an enjoyable 25-30 hour campaign. But it's disheartening to see what's happened to the series ever since it hit the 3DS, with the lack of meaningful post-game content, the constant handholding, the mediocre production values... for $60, nothing in SWSH has made me go "wow, I want to play that right now!" That's the same reason I skipped Let's Go. For me, the DS era was the peak of Pokemon; Platinum, HGSS, BW, BW2, all fantastic games. Some of the best video game experiences I've had are with these. But ever since it's just never been the same and GameFreak has struggled more and more to adapt to new hardware.

I've been there day 1 for every new generation. But they're asking a lot for me at $60 if it's going to be a retread of the 3DS era of Pokemon without access to all Pokemon. The precedent this sets is worrying too. Pokemon will live or die on whether or not GameFreak finds them marketable. I would have preferred a reboot, but they are obviously never going to retire Pikachu, Charizard, etc. I'll wait until the game comes out and decide if it's worth picking up. I got enough on my plate as is, both in real life and my gaming backlog.

If I had to guess, think about it this way.

One episode is naturally gonna have a few people who dislike it, so they’ll dislike. No issue with that.

If it gets more subs and views, that means more exposure.

More exposure means a lot of people who dislike it have a higher chance of seeing it.

My abridged series is more influenced by things like Sealab 2021, MST3K, South Park and Arrested Development than other abridged series. I'm not a huge fan of most of them myself.

I honestly haven’t got any hard time with the game as you seem to comment about.

Maybe Vinny isn’t making a good use of mechanics such as the jump, the way drift works in CTR or the hidden gimmicks of each item (such as jumping as much as possible to take a TNT box out of you).

My tip for anyone who would want to get into the game is to first practice on Adventure Mode and some offline races before jumping into the online mode. The Adventure Mode actually explains at some moments the key mechanics of CTR in a clear and direct way to the player, which actually make the difference when you play offline or online.

If you dislike something and feel the need to say it, at least explain why. Saying “***** abridged dubs.” doesn’t benefit anyone.

AD (first three seasons at least) is like the pinnacle of sitcom writing. I wish I could craft running gags and quick banter like they could.

My brother and I write the show together and we bring opposite approaches. I bring the modern TV sitcom and Adult Swim approach, and he brings the typical Youtube comedy, loud noises, nonsensical approach. I craft the story and focus on plot and character, and he comes in with the absurdist humor to liven things up.

We just wrote a scene together last night where we decided to reuse an animation of one character snapping his fingers and pointing every time he says something. It's something I'd never thought of on my own but after he proposed it we just kept snapping and pointing after everything we said for like fifteen minutes and it was hilarious.

What I find interesting is how few people actually use the like/dislike buttons. I've seen videos with 1,000 views that only have 20 likes. Its kind of weird that the feature is so underused.

I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about it, and personally enjoyed the episodes I saw.
