Smash Obsessed
One think that always pissed me off about the PM series is that despite both PM and TTYD featuring flying partners, absolutely none of them had any form of immunity to grounded attacks.

I don't think he will, but I am hoping he will if only because a Content Approaching video this week followed by Hero dropping Saturday or Sunday seems ideal (also because I'm curious about how his kit works)Ya think Hero Sandwich will drop this week?
I want the Purple Sling-a-Thing Toad from Decalburg as the Toad partner. If you want to know my thoughts on a future PM partner...
A Toad. Despite how prominent they are throughout the series, there hasn't been a single Toad partner so far and I find that odd. As for how one would work, well, Toads fit the bill of an everyman, but I feel like this Toad should be one of a former Toad House runner, who's housr got destroyed by a villian, or his house got repossesed, or his family got kidnapped or something. Anyways, he makes use of the power ups seen in the Mario series, like the Frog Suit, Hammer Suit, and Cat Suit, and that's how he deals out damage. His feild ability would probably be tattle, as he knows the lands from his traveling to trade his goods.
Okay, I have a bit of a story for him:I want the Purple Sling-a-Thing Toad from Decalburg as the Toad partner.
Seriously though, he was the best character in that game, I’d like to see him return in some way.
Stickers can work as Badges or Items this time around. Oh perhaps, Cards can act like items, and by using FP to fill them with Paint, you can make them more stronger. So question, what would be a better way to incorporate the idea of consumable attacks and different levels of those attacks (in potential exchange for leveling up) into Paper Mario’s traditional battle system as opposed to how it was in SS and CS?
I kinda want the Stickers to act more like Badges this time around where you can find them around the levels and peel them off to stick them inside the magic sketchbook I mentioned earlier on a page dedicated to that character and it’d be functionally the same as the badges and BP.
Will tournaments need special rules for performing Kamikazee?I’m actually now wondering how Hero will work competitively given his MP meter/skill menu
Kamikazee to Rage Quit true combo. Will tournaments need special rules for performing Kamikazee?
you say that like kamikaze is gonna be an actual problemWill tournaments need special rules for performing Kamikazee?
I feel like it's possible once the meter runs out, it would take a certain amount of time for it to completely refill. Probably won't be relying on his spells way too much, at least from how I see it.I’m actually now wondering how Hero will work competitively given his MP meter/skill menu
Maybe not. The move looks more like a last resort option, and it doesn't seem quick or easy to land. Will tournaments need special rules for performing Kamikazee?
isn't there a move in SE games that SUCCS mana/mp/etc out of peopleI feel like it's possible once the meter runs out, it would take a certain amount of time for it to completely refill. Probably won't be relying on his spells way too much, at least from how I see it is.
Uhhhhhhisn't there a move in SE games that SUCCS mana/mp/etc out of people
That'd be better for a remake, yeah. But I thought those were limited to certain enemies like bosses and sub-bosses. Couldn't you theoretically fight only the enemies that give you more health and pages and skip all the generic enemies without seeing a drastic difference (aside from maybe fewer coins)?
Maybe make them work more like Battle Chips in MMBN? And that's only semi consumable. I feel like that wouldn't be right for Paper Mario, despite me liking the MMBN fighting system. So question, what would be a better way to incorporate the idea of consumable attacks and different levels of those attacks (in potential exchange for leveling up) into Paper Mario’s traditional battle system as opposed to how it was in SS and CS?

DQ MP stealing spell is called drain magic.Uhhhhhh
FF has Osmose
Idk about DQ I just started playing V on my phone
it literally called Drain Magic in DQ lolUhhhhhh

Ngl, that game just seems like spyware. Like, a blatant carbon copy that asks for permisson for camera usage and managing phone calls sounds like spyware to me.Here comes the C and D:
Wait, really?DQ MP stealing spell is called drain magic.
Meanwhile I’m confused by the huge amount of elitism in the Crash Team Racing community. I just want all the characters. I don’t care about you feeling the need to “prove how good you are”. What does that even do but put down other people.Every time someone calls me a **** for buying Sword and Shield I want to get it more
I dunno why people on are so invested in what I spend my money on
Quick search suggests the old name was robmagic. The new localizations didn't start until DQ8 (2005 release in NA) so Quest 64 was probably using the name first. Still, with how influential DQ is on JRPGs in general, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some inspiration there.Wait, really?
...I mean, I'm guessing Quest 64 was inspired heavily by DQ's spells to some degree, but that's the same name. Works very differently due to Monsters not having literal MP(as they have something closer to "special attacks that are unlimited" due to either the game being rushed or an intentional design choice). It literally has things like Exit, a variation of the Wing of Wyvern, Escape(as well as a traditional way to run away... by existing the battle ring), tons of Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, and other similar spells. You can find a good chunk of similar ones. It even has a spell that returns you to the last town you were in(that has wings you can get).
That's pretty neat. I don't even remember that spell. I probably know it as something else via Dragon Warrior Monsters, so that might be why.
Hey man, Crash team racing is serious business.Meanwhile I’m confused by the huge amount of elitism in the Crash Team Racing community. I just want all the characters. I don’t care about you feeling the need to “prove how good you are”. What does that even do but put down other people.

Good thing you can't actually die in the game.Hey man, Crash team racing is serious business.
If you die in the game you die for real
Yeah, I looked at the spells and to say the least, there's a lot of overlap, as the examples showed. Drain Magic is probably inspired by RobMagic. There's also effectively Heal and Healmore. There is no literal spell in Quest 64 that is "Heal All" either, so it fits. The hero, Brian, is also pretty much your typical hero like the one in DQ1 was, at least, magic-wise. Tons of versatile magic with no strict focus on one type. But it also has similarities to things like what the Prince is in DQ2, where he can only do so much. It's kind of a combination of a Red Mage and a regular Battle Mage, if you will. There's no armor or equipment in Quest 64 itself, as you pretty much can hit things with a stick or use magic to increase your defense/offense, etc. From what I've gathered(as I can't confirm directly), things like Spirit Armor Lv 2(which doubles your defense stat) doesn't do it in a way that caps you out at your natural max, but literally doubles it. So if you have 255, the max, you'll have 510 from that.Quick search suggests the old name was robmagic. The new localizations didn't start until DQ8 (2005 release in NA) so Quest 64 was probably using the name first.
