Alright. I just went through every franchise in Smash and added as many additional characters as I think they needed. A few didn't get any (Ice Climbers, Duck Hunt, Game & Watch etc.), but most did. Some might even surprise you. Here they are if you want to read them. There are no new franchises unless they're a sub-franchise of one that's already in the game. You'll see what I mean.

Some good choices here. Tabuu is a great pick, Yu is cool, even if he’s not who I would’ve picked personally, and Dr Coyle is a great choice.
My only issues are that DK doesn’t need a whole new moveset, and I would replace Cranky with Funky. I also think Mega Man could use more reps, but that’s it. Nice job!!

Edit: forgot to mention! I also think SMT could’ve used a rep but that’s just me being nitpicky so it doesn’t really matter

Would you have said the same thing about Roy, Marth, Chrom, and Lucina just going off of the games they come from?
To a degree. I can at least see that, Marth aside, they use similar weapons, and they all have the same movement type so there's merit for getting them in quickly even if I feel the only echo pairing amongst them at this point should be Chrom and Lucina.

Alm/Celica to Eirika/Ephraim is trading a left handed sword user and a sword mage for a rapier user and a lancer
Lyn to Leif is trading a katana user for a weapon master who uses a regular sword by default
Ike to Black Knight is trading a mercenary for a huge bulky armoured knight.

The thing that really bugs me is that... to look right he’d have to always be facing the screen. And if you had him face the characters like would be expected the mech would look weird.

Wait.. I forgot about his mech from EarthBound. That design could work.
I think it’d be alright; the mech may need adjustments, I’m not sure. Maybe if it’s shrunk a tiny bit so it fits around his body more? Idk.

But yeah his EarthBound mech may work better. Tbh I kinda prefer his EB appearance being used if he’s a Smash fighter, with him somehow still having Mother 3 knowledge.

I should get around to playing Gen 5 just to see what the hype is about.
Aside from a single attempt at emulation I’ve never played it either. Luckily I have a functioning Ds somewhere so all I would to get is the cart itself.

My favorite is Gen 2, but Gen 5 is a close second.

Although, I'm not really into Pokemon much anymore (aside from Mystery Dungeon) so I won't be making a games tier list. The investment just isn't there; RIP.

Gen 6 is my fav, and I will defend it to this very day

Gen 5 is a really close second
Gen 6 was actually my first gen. I have OR&AS sitting around the house somewhere but without a functioning 3DS I can't exactly go back and play it

I did actually once play Red on an original Gameboy Color my grandparents had but I have no clue where that went: If I had to guess they likely sold it. rip. never really got far enough to really get a feel
for it either.

I just like the complete jump in power that happened with Gen 4.

Gen 1: Most powerful Pokémon can create planetary storms and are psychic (Mewtwo in Movie 1). One can learn every move due to being the ancestor to all.

Gen 2: Lugia flapping it's wings can create harsh winds and storms that last for several days. Ho-Oh is a magical bird that grants life and can revive others.

Gen 3: Kyogre and Groudon in newly revealed weakened forms could already plunge the planet into an endless storm and create a major flood or have it succumb to an eternal drought under raging heat that'll eventually make life unsustainable. Primal forms restore their original power and boost them evem further. Can easily end all life. Rayquaza who exists above them (literally and physically) can solo both and eats meteors for breakfast. It has a Mega form that can even bust a meteor capable of destroying the planet.

Gen 4: The legendaries of Sinnoh are all part of the Creation Trio, a triad of demigods responsible for the creation of existence itself representing the physical embodiments of space and dimensions, time, and antimatter/gravity. Each of these three, however, are just facets of The Original One, who existed before everything and who's awakening birthed everything there is, was, or ever will be. All of these Pokémon are worshipped as Gods and Arceus itself has very clear relations to a holy/divine figure reaponsible for purification/spiritual protection against dark, evil forces as shown in the Hoopa movie.

in what regard
-It introduced a lot of my favorite Pokemon that are still among my favorites today.
-Killer soundtrack
-Last game to feature a Pokemart theme IIRC (and one of the best versions at that)
-Actually respectably good storyline and lore
-Great rival character
-Luxray

Granted it was my first, but I think it still holds up pretty well apart from the battle system being rather slow.

...Then again I missed out on the earlier generations because of when I was born and also due to never owning the systems most of them were on, so what do I know? :nessecho:

I love all the Pokémon games, but my favorite is probably either Gen 1 remakes in Gen 3, Gen 5, or Gen 2 remakes.

They’re all really good though, so I’m not sure I have a definitive favorite. I guess they did get a bit lackluster starting with Gen 6, though that one, 7 and 8 are good too. I think Gen 7’s only issue imo was the amount of short battles even in later routes, so many 1 or 2 Pokémon battles for a good while. Gen 8 was very easy, but I may have overleveled my Pokémon a bit, though I guess overleveling is easy to do in Gen 8 too, heh; still cool though, and Dynamax Vespiquen in Isle of Armor beat me a time or two.

I don’t remember how Gen 6 felt tbh, I need to play it again sometime. It may have been a bit easy, idk, but I remember still loving it and having fun as I usually do with Pokémon, loving the franchise since I was 3 or 4.

I'm divided about pokemon, I've liked all of them, and like the evolution (and having new pokemon), but the older pokemon games were a better difficulty, the new ones are too easy. I don't always want to compete against people, so I'd love to have a single player challenge.

It's still funny to me that in-universe Arceus has never canonically appeared in the games. His event was never released and requires hacks.

And then he had exactly one appearance in his movie but we all know Ash always forgets so it barely matters.

So he's currently still in the void, just sitting there. Everyone knows he exists, but he's never actually made his appearance known. It's actually kinda neat as that goes well with the lore.

wait what? :yoshi:

That is actually pretty funny and also fits pretty well considering, ya know, Arceus is the pokemon god.

In terms of Pokemon, my favorite Generations would be 2 and 5, with 3 following them.

It appeared in two movie, but you'd be forgiven for forgetting Hoopa's.
