I mean, jokes aside? 2020 isn't even the worst thing happened to humanity this century. It’s just a conclusion I came too after observing the condition of our many societies.

Alright, you somewhat said the word, don't complain. That doesn’t help!

You think so? I’m just really scared. There’s global tension and nation wide tension in every nation. There’s a legit chance that America could end up in both a second civil war and a Third World War all at once and there’s the looming threat of nuclear weapons and the people who would want to launch them. Not to mention a deadly global pandemic. I can’t help but be terrified.I mean, jokes aside? 2020 isn't even the worst thing happened to humanity this century.
Not even close to the worst in human history in general.I mean, jokes aside? 2020 isn't even the worst thing happened to humanity this century.
Just sounds like the news overhyping things like every election year. Same thing happened in 2016 and other elections before it.You think so? I’m just really scared. Same! I often get weird and cool ideas but never can seem to make then the way I imagine it, despite my expertise.I get annoyed with my brain some times. On my way home from work, the idea of an indie fighting game popped into my head (not an original idea, I know, but one with lots of potential), and before I knew it, I was brainstorming characters, figuring out who could work and who couldn't, thinking of stages and how it would control, etc.
The problem is that, even if I decided to code Shovel Knight, for example, or even a Shovel Knight stage, it would turn out nowhere near as good as how I imagine it. It always seems to happen that way, where I plan a ton of things and I don't have the skill to actually make them. (even when I tried making a Mugen game using pre-existing sprites that I ripped, it didn't pan out; I got about twelve characters done before hitting a brick wall due to one really unorthodox character, along with my lack of knowledge for how to code throws and transformations)
Sure, why not?I wanna share an idea I came up with last night. Will people actually look at it?
Me with Isabelle amiiboIt’s physically impossible to find a specific amiibo.
You want a mii gunner amiibo? That sucks, there isn’t a single gamestop within 100 miles of you that has it. And good luck finding it anywhere else. Your only choice is from that sketchy dude on eBay asking for $30 and then $20 for shipping.
If you want an amiibo, you’re going to have to take whatever the gods bless you with.
Aren't there like 5 different Isabelle amiibo you can find easily?Me with Isabelle amiibo
I don’t have a problem finding Isabelle amiibo. If I really wanted one rn, I could drive 20 mins to a certain Gamestop. Who knows, that may be what I get.Me with Isabelle amiibo
I forgot Tom Jones sang that theme. Guess it’s not that unusual huh?I saw that show a lot as a child. Really nostalgic.
Also had a really badass main theme:
I just wanted the Smash one though. That's the only one I can't even findAren't there like 5 different Isabelle amiibo you can find easily?
It’s also gonna be hard for them to make. Those arms will be super easy to break off. That Min Min Amiibo's gonna be super fun to track down lemme tell ya.
Especially assuming this is a character with little to no preexisting merch. Those tend to sell out fast.
I'm downI wanna share an idea I came up with last night. Will people actually look at it?
YepI forgot Tom Jones sang that theme. Guess it’s not that unusual huh?
As a side note one of my favorite scenes in Duck dodgers was when Dodgers sang the songI'm down
Yep
But Glee did a good job too
Ah **** here we go again. The world is going to end. We’re in end times.
I can name so many times on history where it was worst and the world managed to get through.I mean, jokes aside? 2020 isn't even the worst thing happened to humanity this century.
My suggestion is to focus less on coding and more on concepts. If you really want to get it off the ground, it's better to ask for help on balance etc. and team up with other coders.I get annoyed with my brain some times. That's what I've ended up doing. I always wanted to help make a game but I suck at coding so I've accepted just being the creative idea guy and character designer. While my brother and his friend do the actual heavy lifting. My suggestion is to focus less on coding and more on concepts. Especially if you've never fully made a game before. Even my first ideal game? Oh, I'm getting help alright. No way I can get all the sprite designs right etc. Best I can do is touch up the ideas.
Have you been to College for game designing? Where do you specialize in?
HOW did I miss this gem?As a side note one of my favorite scenes in Duck dodgers was when Dodgers sang the song

Hell, my first planned released game is only getting the basework done for concept. I only have a logo, and a ton of ideas, including weapons. Since the heroes are more "avatars" in a way, it allows for creative armor options. Like the Cat Equipment(though not all of it is done). Ears, Claw, and a Catling Gun so far. That's what I've ended up doing. The game my group is working on is a game mildly inspired by Skies of Arcadia, being a simple RPG about pirates.Hell, my first planned released game is only getting the basework done for concept. The monsters follow a distinct design factor; they are going to be Earth, Fire, Wind, or Water, have exactly one counterpart each, and often come in groups(2 or 3) that relate to each other. For instance, a wasp called Stinging In The Rain would be grouped with other storm-related monsters, or wind or rain stuff. Generally my goal is that a counterpart does not show up with themselves. There's literally close to maybe a few who are similar enough ideas to justify it. I haven't figured out much beyond that, but I've had a lot of fun with the character names.
To clarify, it's a Dungeon Crawler called Tower of Pandemia. Basically the world is corrupted by a plague, causing these monsters to appear. Fairly simplistic for a first game, so not meant to be an intricate plot. Not sure if up to 3 or 4 characters yet.
I feel this. Lots of (what I think are) great ideas for games written out but I always get discouraged when the coded version doesn’t come together like it does in my mind. Same thing with short films.I get annoyed with my brain some times. I was a bit like that about three years ago. And by the way this isn't the worst of times. In recent memory? Don't know. In human history? I don't know, ask the soldier forced to go to war 70 years ago or the farmer who watched his lands decimated by Mongols 700 years ago or the poor soul chosen as a sacrifice for the Gods in the Aztec Empire 500 years ago.You think so? I’m just really scared. There’s global tension and nation wide tension in every nation. Well you know I or anyone else here can always lend an ear. I'm just cooking food.Just had some sleep.
Still feeling really alone...
That's fair. The game my group is working on is a game mildly inspired by Skies of Arcadia, being a simple RPG about pirates.
We have our 4 party members, all with names and obvious influences from other characters, like our female lead is a redhead like Nami and fights like Tifa and our protagonist is obviously influenced by Captain Marvelous from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger with a bit of Vyse from skies of arcadia.
I would go into more detail but I'm not sure if my brother would be comfortable with sharing more than the character concepts. lol
Don't forget the toba eruption, the black plague, conquest of the Mongols lead by Genghis Khan, the Aztec Empire conquering neighboring tribes and those brutal sacrifices they made to their sun god, indigenous tribes in Africa, New World, Polynesia and Australia engaging in small scale wars, WW1 and WW2, etc.HOW did I miss this gem?
The Spanish Flu
You're welcome
Aww, I wanna give him a hug.The episode focused on Ash giving Riolu a lot of attention after it won fights, which led Pikachu to think Ash didn’t care as much about it anymore. So he runs off, and Mr. Mime chases after him. They then end up traveling back to Pallet Town because Pikachu doesn’t want to go back.
Just to found things out the other 2 party members are a nerdy guy who's childhood friends with the protagonist and a Tarzan-like Jungle girl. That's fair.
Thankfully I'm the "director" of my project and at most I've had a few ideas thanks to others. ...Though hey, gotta love a city by the name of Marr Jour Rine.
That sounds pretty cool, mang.
