Well, the main goal was to increase interactivity in the real world, but since the DS era, Pokemon jumped all in on the online aspect, meaning you can obtain them in like 5 seconds, rendering it pointless.

Also, there haven't been any new ones after Gen 6, so idk why it's still around aside from tradition.

In that era, I basically went without, but I get what you mean. It definitely is an antiquated gimmick nowadays.

Funnily enough that was one of the first ones I got.

I remember completing the national dex in Y and Slowking was the last Pokemon I needed. Would be nice if the GTS had an option to filter for Pokemon holding the necessary evolution item. Like it was easier to find a Slowking up for trade then a Slowpoke with a King's Rock.

I'm pretty sure MVCI sold about a the same as UMVC3. It did take a while to get there tho. But I could be wrong about that. Had it had better reception(as in better aesthetics and Ike Pulmutter not being a petty *****), it would have sold even better than UMVC3 I think.

DBFZ had sold about 5 million copies so far. Which is about as much Tekken 7.

Iirc, he was the CEO who would shoot down stuff like XMEN and Fantastic 4 crossing over in Marvel properties like video games cause he wanted Sony/Fox to give up the rights to the movie licenses iirc. Basically, if I'm remembering it correctly, it was a "Kill via starvation" technique. Make certain franchises less known in the public eye, so when Sony/Fox do make movies on them, there's less general appeal.

"Black people/women don't sell!" Iron Man 3's villan was actually a woman before Perlmutter barged in yelling "GIRL TOYS DON'T SELL MAKE THE VILLAIN A MAN!" yet despite this no toys were made for the Iron Man 3 villain. The list goes on and on, even for pettier **** like getting mad people invited to an event dared to eat more than a single snack for wasting his money

I just hope these Arcade 1UP collabs will lead to physical releases of the MVC titles. Espeically X-Men vs Street Fighter, never had a modern re-release of some kind like most of the other titles had to some point.

But with the Mouse being an evil conqueror, the X-Men series doesn't have to be worried getting shafted for fighting games.

Now, if MVC can more than 2 Spider-Man characters in a single title, we're really gonna get crazy.

MVCI sold about as well as UMVC3, but significantly worse than vanilla MvC3. Who knows how well the DLC fared but MVCI definitely undersold compared to Capcom's expectations.

Basically. He tried to completely de-value both of those franchises since Fox had their movie rights. I think even the comics had been messed with, like the Fantastic 4 not having a main title for like 2-3 years or so. And when they were trying super hard to push the Inhumans, there was a story around that time where more Inhumans were being made, but it caused some mutants to become sterile and not have kids. Which is next level petty. I think it was Inhumans vs X-Men or something.

I don't know how he'd try to screw over Sony, but he couldn't exactly do that to Spider-Man with him being literally the most popular Marvel character of them all.

I pretty much cheesed him using chain attacks (Player controlled Melia -> Summon Bolt discharge, Dunban -> Blossom Dance, Reyn -> Sword Drive). Said arts were at least rank 7, though.

I probably could have handled it better. I'm usually more chill than that. But I don't like it when people get all uppity and/or passive aggressive. But then no one else is allowed express their disappointment in something when they do a lot. I don't even hate MVCI, I just think its disappointing. It does some genuinely cool stuff. Like the shame cube. I really like the shame cube.
