It'd make more sense(and take less time)to disable the AT of Spring Man when he's in a match. But that's only if Spring-Man is chosen after all. Kind of like how Alucard won't work on some stages.

Of course, they could go through all the effort if they felt like it, it'd be neat.

I don't know if I would say that's a lot of effort, switch out a jpeg for the Spirit, change some text, and change some textures (possibly even import the textures directly from Arms).

In my imagination she moves to the US specifically to find Little Mac because she spent her childhood watching the world ridicule her father for being scrawny and weak and Mac, being the other underdog of the league, makes the perfect trainer in her eyes. So between moving to the US and finding Mac, she would have been working on learning the language, so she would still have a French accent and mannerisms, but she would have at least a moderate grasp on English.

For real though, I desperately hope it isn't Springman though. He's the most boring character on the roster, he's basically just long arm Little Mac.

I'm not going to ***** amd whine if he does get in, but I'm just going to hope they choose someone better. At the end of the day, this isn't just about representing the game, this is about advertising Arms to people who haven't played it. People are going to be a lot less interested in generic fighter man than say a cute girl in a mech or ramen haired dragon warrior or a weird green blob or a candy clown girl.

Kamiya didn't want Bayo in the PXZ games since he wanted to be the one to handle Dante and Bayo crossing over in a game. Seeing as he created both of them. Though he regretted it a bit later from what I heard. Dunno how he'd feel about Dante being in Smash, or both in Sega vs Capcom, aside from some fans annoying the hell out of him.

That said, Kamiya's version of Dante is fairly different from Itsuno's more over the top version, so it's hard to say how different Dante would be in Kamiya's hands again. Like how Dante got ticked off in DMC1 when Mundas killed Griffon instead of letting him die with honor. A small character moment, but it gives you an idea of how Kamiya's Dante thinks I guess.

I like to think they're smart enough to use a Smash rep as a refresh on the Arms IP, go all in on the fan favourite character (Min-Min) and going forward shape the sequel (and further hopefully) around her. That way Arms 1 can be seen as a test run of the franchise and the "main character bias" can work in everyone's favour.

I'd definitely prefer a different ARMs rep than either


But I'd also have preferred Claude or Eldegard over Byleth

Or literally any Punch Out character over Little Mac

Or a handful of Pokemon over the ones we have

Never liked Ribbon's design that much, but I really dig Spring-Man's. It's goofy in a good way. His hair is dope. In a sea of baldies, spiky haired dudes, girly girls and ponytails, we got someone else reppin the Pompadour.

Depends, Ryu's definitely one of the most popular Street Fighter characters, but I dunno if he's number one or not. Granted ARMS is nowhere near the level of Street Fighter. And I doubt Spring-O is the least popular character.

Tbh, I don't think box art and being a box mascot 100% trumps popularity. It does help though.

It took Charizard 3 games to be playable, and he's a HUGE mascot of Pokemon (being on the boxart of the best selling Pokemon games).
