I heard. I'm SOO stocked for this! I've been wanting a rep from that ever since I picked up the game (I removed it from my DLC wishlist signature before Ultimate released due to Spring Man being announced as an Assist Trophy). Definitely a good start to the Fighters Pass vol. 2 for me.

With Smash, the online tournament, a free trial, AND the return of Party Crashes, there's NO WAY we're waiting much longer for that graphic novel now.

It'll be interesting to see for sure.

But the more 1st party characters we get means the less new 3rd parties, which stings a whole lot.

While that is true, it is a Nintendo game first and foremost, so I wouldn't be too upset.

I'll say this: this is the weirdest reveal yet; solely for the fact that they didn't tell us who, but rather the franchise they come from. Part of me thinks that this is a sign of "it's not who you think it is."

I really don't care which character it is, they're all interesting (except Springtron), but I will say there are a few I'd definitely be less excited for.

Min Min or Mechanica would be the most interesting for me, Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are the mascots, Master Mummy would be a neat new heavyweight, and Dr. Coyle's the villain and arguably the best suited due to having the most varied abilities and being relevant to what little story the game has (being the person who manufactures ARMS themselves.)

Ninjara, while fine from a design perspective, would be yet another ninja on the roster (and I feel if we get another, it's Hayabusa or nothing), Byte and Barq are a true "gimmick character" and nothing more, Twintelle is overrated simply because people are horny (seriously, there's nothing else interesting about her), and Lola Pop is... cute, I guess?

Everyone else is just too unmemorable for me to want. Max Brass and Helix at least have interesting designs, but that's the end of the positives, Misango is "ooga booga jungle man", Kid Cobra is... a skater? I guess? I actually dislike his design the most of all, and Springtron's not getting in over his original character, Spring Man. That's including Ken without Ryu there.

If I'm being pragmatic, I'd have to say Ribbon Girl would be the most likely pick. She basically fills the mascot role, and I see a spirit or mii costume being promoted as far more likely then an assist trophy getting in.

But since they teased us the way they did instead of just announcing who it is out right, I'm going to be optimistic and jump on the "multiple alts" train. They might have to take a few creative liberties to make it work, but Smash has never been opposed to that in the past.

As for what they'd do with the Springman assist? Well, I see three possibilities. For one, they could just make the assist trophy appear shaded when Springman is in battle. Alternatively, they could program it so that trophy won't appear at all when he's in. Or they might just treat it like Chrom in Robin's Final Smash and do nothing.

I can't see them cutting the trophy altogether like some people have suggested. They aren't going to just cut base game content out all together, especially when not everyone is going to buy the DLC.

I'm most likely alone on this one, but I'm kind of hoping a little that the one ARMS character that's revealed is Helix.

Idk, I do have a small liking towards him and I feel that he's the one Sakurai would probably choose simply for gamplay uniqueness, at least that's what I think.

They really want it to stand out on its own. Makes me think a sequel is coming and they were pretty happy with the first game. Which is nice as New Ips are always welcome. Smash will be a big boost for it

Option 1: It’s Springman, breaking the assist upgrade rule.
Option 2: It’s Min Min or something.
Option 3: A combination of several different characters, also breaking the assist upgrade rule.
Option 4: New character to promote the unannounced ARMS 2.

Well, they could maybe have something release between June and December that's a big game. Honestly I'm expecting BotW 2's release date for the June- Uh, Summer Direct, and if not, a Mario game to release in that window since they sell well even with spinoffs or ports.

Also, yes, A SwSh rep looks likely and personally I hope the Arms character is Springman with a Ribbon Girl/Springtron alt since those are the only alt options that make sense and it'll tear apart what we thought we knew for speculation and I love chaos.

I picked up Panzer Dragoon earlier today, and I think I might get Good Job as well. It looked like fun; I feel like it might be like Untitled Goose Game, where it's really short, but if that's the only flaw that the game has, I can live with that.

But uh, yeah, since we still need to fill out those spaces, an Arms character with an Echo could potentially be one of the ways they go about doing that. I personally wouldn't know how I feel about 2 Arms characters in Smash already, so I kinda don't want that to be the case, but the only characters with anyone remotely similar to him is Springman because of Ribbon Girl and Springtron IIRC so... Just saying that Springman for the bois and Ribbon Girl for the gals with different color alts between them makes a lot of sense for trying to make this Arms character have more appeal to a general crowd.

But I'm fully aware that it can literally be anyone, but I just don't see how they can make it more profitable than my suggestion unless they double down on Twintelle for sex appeal. But then knowing Sakurai he kinda likes weird characters and Helix is all about that.

I'm happy to finally get news on the Panzer Dragoon remake, though I do wish the physical release wasn't a limited run. I'd love to pick up the Saturn cover one, but they haven't said how long it'll take to release and I'd rather not wait too long to play it.
