Remember that Jill Valentine moveset I made awhile back? Well, I'm scrapping that. It's boring, and not creative enough.
I believe
@Godzillathewonderdog mentioned it earlier, but after seeing the Hero moveset, I think it's potentially possible for Sakurai and the dev team to implement a moveset for a Resident Evil pick (I think it's between Leon, Chris, and Jill) where they have their own inventory they can select and use. It's almost like a briefcase with weapons, and items like Green/Blue/Red Herbs.
Basically, let's use Leon as an example (starting to think he's the pick tbh). The default moveset starts with a pistol. This pistol has unlimited ammunition, but unlike Joker, Leon has to reload after a certain number of shots. These shots would have more power/knockback than Joker's pistol, and that could just be explained that it's a "real pistol". If he reloads successfully, he can go back to shooting almost instantly. This would take a second or two. However, similar to Ridley taking big damage if he's hit at the start of his fireball attack, if Leon gets hit while reloading, it jams his pistol and takes longer to reload.
This instills the feeling of conservation of equipment, timing, and strategy of Resident Evil.
Something similar could be implemented with the remainder of the moveset, however. As you use other items, they'd be put on either a cooldown, or gone completely. Considering Green Herbs heal, the use of a Green Herb should require a fair amount of time to use, and be in especially limited quantity.
Consider this...Leon is at the center of Battlefield and suplexes Mario. Mario is sent flying off the stage. Leon now has time to use one of his Green Herbs before he's attacked again. This takes a few seconds (maybe a tad shorter than the 1-UP flag item), and heals something like 20% (points, not 20% of the total) of his health.
I'm not sure what other items could be included except for grenades (which would be probably stronger than Snake's grenades...they'd function differently anyway).
This actually seems like a cool idea. I'm not sure what kind of playstyle he'd have, but it's fun to think about.
