I can bet that barely anyone else shares that opinion(well, maybe a few, but not here, that’s for sure.)

And now “Nintendo needs to always make more sequels to older games, despite the devs wishes!”

I can see your point here, but that kinda opinion(or at least, if I’m reading it right) is super unpopular, and a bit radical, if you ask me.

Honestly there's no reason why Sakurai would have any say over whether or not a new Kid Icarus game is made if Nintendo wanted to make one. He was a freelancer working on the IP for one game. He wasn't even the IP creator like he was with Kirby, which also continued after he left.

To say making a new Kid Icarus without Sakurai would be disrespectful is ridiculous imo. I really hope you don't think Nintendo's just not gonna make any more Smash games once he retires.

But that's not how freelancing works. Once Uprising was released, Sakurai left behind any sway over the IP he had. If Nintendo wanted a new game and told, I don't know, Retro or Intelligent Systems to make one, Sakurai would have no say in whether or not it gets made. He doesn't own the series.
