Just reflecting that this is the first of many Super Mario Maker 2 updates. If version 2 was already super dope from the Master Sword, I cant wait to see how a Kirby or a Samus powerup would look like in the game.
Honestly I can see a Samus Powerup more than a Kirby one, because I feep as if a Kirby one would take a LONG time with copy abilities and enemy interactiviy, and all Samus has to be is the morph ball, missiles, and beams.

Unless they base Kirby off of Kirby's Dreamland, and have no copy abilities, but that would ruin the point.

Probably not too likely but imagine a Sonic or Mega Man power up...

Also, while I'm at it with SMM2 speculation...

Fuzzy and Swoop would be easy to include, and I expect that these two enemies will make it in at some point during SMM2's lifetime. They may not have many interactions, but they're 2D Mario staples nonetheless. Enemies like the Chargin' Chuck, who I also believe will make it over at some point, will be much more difficult to include. Only two variants of the 7 though; a standard and an alt. Chargin' and Jumpin' make the most sense. The Fire Snake and Flame Chomp are recurring enemies, but have different variations and interactions, so I'm not sold on them yet. They make sense as 4th and 5th picks.

However, I feel like the water will receive the largest content boost with Version 3. From the Spiny Cheep Cheep / Rip Van Fish (or whatever they decide to call that blue homing cheep cheep), to the Urchin or Porcupuffer, this is the theme that is lacking the most specific enemies.

On that note, there will probably be two more themes coming too, being the Beach and Volcano. Both of these themes would supply the theme-pool with another level for liquid adjusting, and about time too. Castles can't be the only source of lava, and can take away from the true hectic experience of a vertical rising-lava stage (imo). Beaches have the same accord. The water in the NSMBU Jungle is kind of off-putting, after playing NSMBU and knowing that water never appears with that theme. A night-time variant can have the liquids be upside-down for both themes. Interesting stuff, unless you're in the camp for meteors on a night-time Volcano.

Honorable mentions for themes go to... Mountain. Sadly, there isn't that much special about the Mountain theme, unless you want to complete the set of themes from the New Soup games.

Oh yeah, and the honorable mentions for enemies go to the Mechakoopa and Blargg, for existing and actually having some notability in 2D Mario circles.

A Scuttlebug would be cool as heck but obviously isn't coming.

Why do I sound like a conspiracy theorist? I'm not even going to cover potential power-ups or gamemodes because I sound crazy already.

Writing 7 different films each with a stable and engaging plot sounds incredibly hard. You make is sound like no big deal here, but writing (well good writing and any rate) is one of those things that seems far easier then it actually is.

That's why I say take the easy way out and cover up your plot holes and cliche twists with CG action scenes. /s
This is true it would still be a challenge. But smash has like 60 characters to choose from Nintendo alone. Each with established personalities and worlds that should be horrible to adapt. There’s plenty of good source material which would be harder with other ideas, but there’s a lot of potential still with the idea

Everyone's reminiscing over the PS2 and I can't find mine.

I actually own a PS2 myself, pretty sure it's still inside the stand that holds the Living Room TV in my house. I remember owning Tekken 5 as well and played it with my Dad.

If we're reminiscing about Playstation due to the 25 year anniversary, here's mine:

We were never a Playstation family. I never owned one. The PS2 killed my Dreamcast and nearly killed my Gamecube. The PS3 was absurdly expensive so I didn't get one of those, either. Aside from playing one at friends' houses, I never actually owned a Playstation console until I bought one used for the sole purpose of playing Heavy Rain. When Snake was announced for Smash, I quite literally had no idea who he was and had to Google it.

I've since retroactively learned to appreciate the consoles, though. I've played the Silent Hill games, Haunting Grounds, MS Saga, Rule of Rose... They offer a fair amount of unique experiences that, up until recently, you couldn't play anywhere else. (Though I still don't get the hype for Uncharted. Outside of cutscenes and set pieces, it feels especially 'blah', like a bad Tomb Raider starring someone more charismatic.)

Still though, I'll never forgive them for killing my Saturn and my Dreamcast. FFVII is overrated. Panzer Dragoon Saga remake when.

What would be some other cool additions to Super Mario Maker 2?
The mini mushroom or shell power up from new super Mario bro’s would be neat.

The former could let make smaller blocks and spacing to create some fun secrets and I stacked that really take advantage of its tiny effect. The later would be a neat speed run or puzzle solving power up to have for levels and could add some depth to new styles

I think that costumes could come back, but perhaps in a different way. Instead of trying to have all of these different costumes, which is a lot of work, maybe there could be about a pool of 30 you can get from clearing certain missions. The way Nintendo made challenges every now and then with a costume as a reward was a pretty good way to handle it. Of course, this could happen. I don't think it will considering how the game is going right now, but I'm fine with that.

I bought a PS4 this year and I played through "The Last of Us" and it was one of the greatest games I have ever played. I'm also playing through Persona 5 and thats is also an amazing game.

One year anniversary Spirit event, which gives more SP while also allowing you to deal more damage.

Well if any pokemon spin off still has a chance, its Mystery Dungeon. It had two games on the 3DS, which is a lot more then games like Pokemon Ranger can say.

Yeah, and neither was for Gen 7.

I do think they need to focus more on spinoffs though, instead of having the mainline games still be yearly releases.
