I want to say you’re being pessimistic. But even I have to acknowledge that a Smash movie would probably have to stick to like, the original 10 franchises at most.

A lot of professional writers print absolute garbage and a lot of fanfic authors write incredibly well-written stories. Sturgeon's Law applies either way.

You don’t make every character a main one. The team up is between the main protagonists. There’s a reason Rhodes wasn’t in the first Avengers movie.

You can make a decent movie with just Smash 64's roster but you're still going to get issues with screen time and character development/interactions.

If Smash should get a media adaptations, it should be a comic-strip like Fire Emblem Heroes got so you can just focus on who you like.

Anyway dumbest thing about the idea of a Smash movie is that Subspace already gives us plenty of what people would want from such a production in the first place, which is these characters interacting outside of battle. I'd rather people push for more of that in future Smash entrees than for a movie that would have a limited run time and never be able to fully satisfy these desires.

As a film, you'd have far too big a cast and fans of the various series would inevitably complain that their character didn't get enough screen time
