I fizzled out halfway through Moon, so I don’t think I’ll end up getting Sword, but all the positive pokemon talk is a nice change. Also I care more about the world of Pokemon than Fire Emblem, so this launch discussion is still things I understand/am interested in, even if I don’t have the game. I mean, at the very least it’s not shilling/spamming, right?

Maybe some things gameplay wise are changed, like what I am hearing about RE2. However, the fact that remakes are not 100% original, and mostly take cues from what already exists, I simply don’t think they should be considered as GOTY nominees (Not saying all of them are bad, it is just they are low priority for me when I choose which games to buy)

I'm sure you guys have moved on from this conversation, but I just want to add that, as a guy (who is 27 if that matters), I've always been drawn more to female characters in games; I picked Popplio because of Primarina, I play as Rosalina in Mario Kart and any other Mario game where it's possible, Mileena in Mortal Kombat, Lola Pop in Arms, female Inkling in Splatoon, I always make female custom characters in games, etc.

I left a Discord server after the 9000th time I got spammed with “Saber comes from a porn game” post-storms when talking about characters we found likely for DLC.

Wait, I meant to get a water leak, not a 2013 Smash leak.

AND THE IMAGE UPLOADER BROKE!

Basically image is Mario and Mega Man fighting on Battlefield in Smash 4. But it was during the 2013 Developer video and briefly there was Battlefield with no platforms.

I'm not actually going to be using the classic site this time. There's this pretty cool enhancement by Orteil (The Cookie Clicker dev) called Murder Games, which was inspired by the Hunger Games Simulator. Except it's far superior. You can form your own teams, or go at it alone. You can pick your starting weapon, your class, your pronouns, and some additional perks about you. There is no limit to the number of people I can add, so go at it! Each person can nominate themselves and some other person/thing.

I dunno, man. I know the popular thing right now is "Pokemon SwSh is bleugh", but I'm having mad fun with this game ATM. Like, way more fun than I ever had with the 3DS games. I haven't even tackled any of the gyms yet; I'm having too much fun experimenting with different Pokemon and messing around with stuff like camping and the Wild Area.

Then again, perhaps I'm just a weird minority. I thought Let's Go was pretty solid too, and according to the internet those games were from the pits of Hades itself. :p

People playing it have been pretty positive on the game overall, based on this thread and in other places. The main consensus I've seen is if you weren't a big fan of the 3DS games (I enjoyed them with some hangups), this won't change your mind, but it's hard to screw up the Pokemon formula.
