Why did they drop the Masculine/Feminine/Cool tropes for the three starters. You got something for everyone. With SwSh you have the Masculine one, the other masculine one, and the failing at being cool one.
I'm pretty sure gorillas look like gorillas regardless of sex and honestly I can't really pin a gender on the other 2 either.

Sorry Snake I didn't mean to anger you
It's fine. It's more the implication that masculine designs are only for boys and vice versa. I'm sure there are plenty of little boys who would like a feminine design, and just as many little girls who like the masculine designs. Not to mention all the little kids who lieth betwixt.

Okay, I'll stop now. At this point, I'm distracting myself from my non functioning hotspot.

I do love feminine designs, they have gone on me over the year.

Reguardless of actual Gorilla biology, the design is still on the masculine edge of gender expression. Large, muscular, harsh facial features, etc. And I'm sorry if this is just me, but the designs for Sobble and Intelleon look masculine as well, just closer to the middle of the spectrum compared to Rillaboom.

P.S., I still keep accidentally typing Gorocka instead of the pokemon's actual name, I guess because of my lingering subconscious denial of the authenticity of those leaks.

Oh right. This game has a main story.

>has one gym badge
>team is almost level 30

...Yeah I should probably progress haha
How easy is it to catch the Pokemon you want? Do certain ones only appear in certain areas? Or can I catch the one's I'm interested right away.

And what do I do about my starter problem?

You can find Pokemon wandering in the field, but I'm under the belief that not all of them wander around. So it depends on what you're interested in.

As for your "starter problem" just box whoever you choose, if you really don't like them. There's a bit of a selection at the beginning of the game, so replacing it isn't difficult.

But honestly, you've shown nothing but distaste for this entire game. I don't know why you even care, to be frank.

Certain ones only appear in certain areas. You can get some better Pokemon as the game progresses, but don't expect to catch anything REALLY good until you've beaten a certain number of gyms.

As for starters, just use a different Pokemon of the same type. There's plenty of decent replacements, even when you limit yourself to Gen 8 Pokemon.

step 1: pick a base ingredient
step 2: pick some berries that compliment the base's taste
step 3: fan at a reasonable pace; don't let the fire get too big but get it just right
step 4: stir at a pace where stars consistently appear
step 5: time your button press so the heart enters the curry (a second or two after your press) at the innermost circle
step 6: realise this apparently wasn't good enough and get an iron/bronze rank at best

Still really enjoying the games. As Noipoi Noipoi said, it’s no masterpiece, but it’s a Pokémon game. The basics of a Pokémon game typically make it pretty awesome.

Are there things I want them to add next time? Uh, yeah. But pretty satisfied so far.

You're ascribing human gender characteristics to monsters based on animals where it isn't there. A gorilla is a gorilla.

I legit wonder why they went with midi music on the PC version instead of doing FM emulation
Sonic 3 & Knux wasn't really CPU intensive by the time they ported it, they could've easily just relegated FM emulation to the CPU

Carnival Night sounds way better here

I do think there are some things that Pokémon could have for the next entry that I do think Game Freak needs to do considering they will be main console games from here on out, and there.

One thing is voice acting. It’s almost jarring that in the middle of a battle, Hop will comment in something and no sound comes out. Things would be more impactful with voices there imo.

I have a distaste for how it was marketed, and the gameplay might not be my exact cup of tea, but now that I've seen the entire dex (or at least, the tiny sprites on Bulbapeidia) I have come to the conclusion that there are plenty of Pokemon in the game I like beyond the starters.

Chewtle, Wooloo, Skwovet, Nickit, and Yamper can be obtained almost immediately. Gossifleur, Purrloin, Caterpie, Minccino, Bounsweet, Bellossom, Pichu, Eevee, and Swirlix can be obtained close to the first gym.

That's all I remember from the top of my head.

Shower thought here, the three different Meowth's are basically just representing different levels of wealth
Kantonian is middle-class
Alolan is bourgeois
And Galarian is just straight-up poverty
