Something something it's a song from Homestuck about pregnant children.
Okay I had to look this up, and it isn't the same song, but some of it is supposedly in the song. The song you're referring to was previously banned for what it was involved in. The difference here is that 1, this isn't the same song and 2, the context is clearly different.

a homestuck reference is still a reference

it is objectively terrible and your opinion has no influence on the decision :214:

Alright, my first impressions on Pokémon Sword.

1) Nobody buys Pokémon for the visuals, and to be completely honest I think this first few hours of gameplay has me ignoring the haters at this point. Yeah, the trees are lower quality than maybe what people wanted. I don’t care. I get to run around in an area that feels actually lived in.

2) Exp thing is nice, and in my humble opinion shows the removal of tedium that Pokémon has always had. Granted, I think it’s not asking a lot for it to be turned off for those who seek a challenge, but I think it’s a good addition. However, the only negative is that I’m at the first city and I feel overleveled.

3) The dude who complained about length of the game...I’m at 2-3 hours of gameplay and not even at the first gym. I’m enjoying exploring for now, and I would think half the gameplay is fighting, catching, and exploring the wild area. Why anybody would speed run Pokémon is beyond me.

Seems to me that the complaints were all spastic and not making an impact on the current gameplay experience I’m having. This, now in hindsight, screams of , “Play the game before freaking out”, which is exactly what I expected to happen with this. This game wasn’t going to fail.

I hope they expand on stuff, like I think it’s weird that characters mouths are moving but there’s no sound for example.

I think folks need to remember that this series is mainly directed at kids. Kids don’t care about a low quality tree, a shadow that cuts in awkwardly, or frames per second (which I haven’t noticed whatsoever in terms of frame drops). Kids want to have fun catching new monsters, or getting that one they like that isn’t as new.

I don’t know. I feel the complaints were over the top. But I also expected that this would happen, because that’s the way the internet is.
Sorry, No Mienshao, why no Mienshao? blah blah blah who cares anymore

Also yeah, the OST is pretty nice. Like the Awoo Theme.

So my drive to boycott Pokemon lasted about 15 hours after release.

Honestly, not bad. Might go for a full day next time around.

I have no self control

Meh. I don't care much about it.

Never cared for Homestuck but I did like Undertale so that's where my head goes.

It's a nice song, albeit short. Kinda does seem notably different from every other song, though.

I find it funny that I seem to be the only one who seriously still has no desire to pick up SwSd.

Either my burning hatred of being lied to.

Or the fact I kinda fell out of love with the series around gen 6.

Is keeping me going.

nah i dont care either

after the USUM scam gamefreak did to me i really have no reason or motive to buy a brand-new release of a new gen knowing they're gonna do some goddamn rerelease called super sword or super shield a year later with epic new pokemon and features that retcon the entire experience of the other games

it's fun to see people so worked up over it though

I’m having a bit of FOMO right now but I think I will only pick it up if I have spare vouchers before they expire. At least I have low expectations going in.

Been in training mode, and man these controls feel weird. Im gonna have to get used to muscle memory all over again, because PC overwatch feels far more natural at this point.

Gonna try qp now. I hope people go easy on me lol

You know what would have been nice. If in addition to all your confidants at the final boss cheering you on, you also got cheered on by some of the people who's hearts you changed.

Also, if they changed everyone's hearts all at once then why is the police force still so corrupt?

The same thing goes for Bethesda with Wolfenstein Youngblood. (but, as far as I know, only with the Switch version) Here's hoping they don't pull that garbage with Doom: Eternal - I buy physical games to save space on my system's storage, so having a box with a digital code defeats the purpose.
Do you have a PS4? Or a Xbox One?

It is way less likely that they would pull that on those boxes.

Because ACAB lol

they didn’t change everyone’s hearts they just removed people’s blindness to the problems around them

I hate this mindset, being directed towards kids should not be an excuse for lower quality. I just mean overall, not specifically towards your examples.
Tell me about it.

Cartoons are "just for kids", so who gives a damn if they're quality? Kids will eat any schlock you throw at em, right?

Messages? Morals? Who needs em.

I mean, I'm just gonna look at it from afar and go "Oh that's neat" at most and have chosen to spend my money elsewhere so...

That wasn’t really my point.

Based on most complaints, like frame rate, that’s not what people look for in Pokémon. I want to also point out after several battles, I haven’t experienced a frame drop at all, yet Twitter makes it seem like the game can hardly run, that Game Freak can’t make a game look good despite jagged edges and what not.

I frankly think the games look fine. It’s classic Pokémon gameplay with QOL tweaks. I mean, could they add the toggle in the future? Yes, and I think they should.

I realize I’m an old man at the age of 26, but the most important factor to me is that I’m having fun. Am I sad that I can’t port Greninja and Garchomp to this game, sure. But there’s so much more to this than bringing in my old Pokémon. It’s a new region to explore and experience. I haven a team of entirely new Pokémon to complete that Pokédex.

I just don’t think things are that bad for everyone to have the rage boner they’ve developed based on buzzwords from armchair developers in Twitter. At least, that’s what I’ve found. Internet people literally get people all incensed and then claim it’s going to affect the sales, and it doesn’t, because what people do, the nitpicks they get, like zooming in by 40% on a shadow that doesn’t appear perfectly, are things that the average consumer doesn’t notice, nor does it affect the overall experience of the game.

Maybe I’m just not getting it. But I have precious little time for me to waste it on being mad about pixels, when I can enjoy myself despite that.

Nothing wrong with not wanting the game, it’s the kind of world where you can choose that. I don’t care if people buy it or not, because it’s a valid opinion. It just is refreshing, a bit, to see that the MASSIVE amount of negativity that has surrounded this game has appeared to be an overreaction in most cases. That doesn’t mean criticisms like the National Dex, post-game content, and others are invalid (they most certainly are and I expect The Pokémon Company will learn to allow more time).

Either way, I’m enjoying myself. Almost feel like a kid again.

That's lame. They really didn't do anything then all things considered. Just cause people can see the problems doesn't mean they'll actually change anything.

Unrelated. But why do so many cute and lovable Pokemon loose that when they evolve. It makes me want to not evolve my pokemon. But I can't do that because that feels like It would hurt them. And the animal lover in me can't allow that.

I mean, from an evolutionary standpoint, evolving traits that make you cute and loveable over potentially strong and threatening would make you easy prey.
