I wouldn’t jump to this conclusion yet.

sales will speak, hell tpc and Nintendo have already spoken. Not only can you cancel pre orders for digital copies but Nintendo/Pokémon cancelled pre launch events for the game.
They know the fanbase is very upset right now and are clearly fearful or how it will be reviewed.

Hell they won’t even send review copies out. They know the game isn’t going to be well received and are prepared for it.

not to mention that insider post yesterday makes a lot of sense and confirms if real the dex is coming back. Which at this point I think is absolutely happening because they know that’s the biggest request

Honestly though the cancelled launch events and refusal to give out review copies tells us a lot. Nintendo must be very unhappy with all the **** that went down, and I think they are going to make sure these fixes happen one way or another

He worked on the Archie Sonic comics and created the opening animation for Sonic Mania.

Oh, and he also animated for Sonic Mania Adventures on the official Sonic YouTube channel.

Honestly, I think fans need to start accepting that no Nat Dex might be the norm for Pokemon games. Not saying it'll never return, but when they said the Nat Dex isn't returning for what felt like the ninth time, I'm sure they meant it.

I don't know what went down during the development for SwSh, but this all sounds like a crazy fan theory to explain why SwSh is so controversial and that we shouldn't worry because the next Gen will absolutely 100% address the problems that this Gen had.

He’s an animator and graphic novel illustrator, he’s a huge Sonic fan and has done a lot of work for the series in recent years with first working on the Archie Comics run of the series, all the 2D animated material for Sonic Mania like the cutscenes and the Adventures mini-series and is currently working on the IDW comics as well.

I'm about 50/50 on this.

I'm not sure if I believe it but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised, Gamefreak are known for taking horrible care or just refusing to learn how to use the tech they have.

Except to a degree we know the guy is right. If you look at sun and moon files the models are a mess and way bigger then they need to be. We already know they just imported those models. As I already pointed out Nintendo is clearing well aware of the controversy and taken some big steps we haven’t seen them do with anything else to try and put the flames out. A change seems pretty likely.

They could say no national dex as many times as they want, but if the game is deemed a failure at release, there is no way Nintendo is not gonna step in and let their biggest money maker get away like that and lose all these future sales for future games. First order of business if they stepped in would definitely be to get the dex back

If your still excited and want to play it, the go for it. Don’t let someone tell you not to buy if you want. People may have problems with the game but no one should be forced or told to buy or not buy it. So if you want get it.

although out of curiosity what do you play the franchise for? That will probably help answer your question.

The launch event was cancelled due to technical difficulties, and the refusal to give out review copies probably has more to do with leaks and unfair reviewers who were already planning on writing a negative review because of the National Dex.

Get Outer Worlds instead. Or Luigis Mansion 3.

Also, if you can tolerate long periods of walking, Death Stranding could pique your interest. Though I’d say go with the first two, since idk how would you feel about that.

Look, I get that you're upset with how SwSh turned out, but you're teetering dangerously close to being one of those fans who actively hopes people don't have fun with the games just so it can help push a narrative.

For one Nintendo absolutely isn’t the problem here. They’d delay games like botw, animal crossing and completely scrapped prime four because they weren’t happy with it. No way in hell they are behind this. It’s definitely TPC.

also technical difficulties? You really buy that when it was a week out and could have been fixed beforehand. People were sending Masuda and ohmori death threats as well as that dumbass with fake **** charges over no national dex. They would have been ripped to shreds or in real danger if they went. It was definitely cancelled due to outrage.
Lastly the game leaks every year and they know this. Doesn’t stop them from giving copies out and that’s a stupid reason to not to do so. They need reviews to help sales. They would not just take them away unless they feared reception. It’s not how marketing works

Previous games got leaked and review copies were still sent. It has nothing to do with the leaks. It's damage control.

I mean, yeah, I do think Nintendo is partly to blame. Without Sword and Shield, what else do they have to promote the Switch for the holiday season? Terry?

If anything, Animal Crossing fans should be thankful that SwSh is coming out in November, because otherwise, I could almost guarantee you the game wouldn't have gotten a delay.

If you are looking foward to this game, by all means go ahead. I don’t want to take away anyones fun at all, and I understand what it is like to see a game you enjoy get bashed into oblivion (Ex. Death Stranding)

However, people need to know what they are paying $60 for. I would much more forgiving is this was a budget $30 3Ds title.

But this is a $60 triple AAA product that is supposed to stand toe to toe with BOTW, Odyssey, and Ultimate as system sellers. From the biggest franchise, period. These problems are absolutely inexcusable and should not be dismissed at all.
