Then why is it that Elderly Ryu has appeared in crossovers as well as marketing and recognition?

I just can’t see lloyd before the other two. Tales just isn’t that big of a priority for Namco compared to the money-making juggernauts of Tekken and Digimon.

At this point it’s either Augumon or Heihachi/Kazuya/Jin. It could be something big like Dark Souls or Doom. But at this point I’m pretty sure that the Hero-Banjo 1-2-Punch was this passes “Big Thing”. And at this point it’s all about putting a nice little bow on it. Saving characters like DoomSlayer, Crash, and Ryu Hayabusa (maybe even Reimu) to be the “big thing” in the next batch or two.

Saying "it's either this one or this other one" assumes that there aren't thousands of other options. It could literally be almost any game character ever.

Lloyd's pretty highly requested too. He's placed very well in fan polls.

And unlike Banjo Kazooie, Tales Of is still an ongoing series. Heck, we're getting a new title next year.

Also, Mega Man and Ryu both got in before an RE rep, aka Capcom's best selling series

That really depends on a number of things, particulary the argument of whether Spirits deconfirm characters (which at this point I'm leaning towards yes).

If the costume returns, I'm chalking that up as a soft deconfirmation.

Heihachi reveal during Terry’s presentation.

Geno revealed as bonus fighter in the same stream. (maybe with a stage, but definitely with music)

DoomSlayer revealed as FP2-1 at The Game Awards.

Lots of fast paced reveals to set the tone of Smash in 2020.

1) Resident Evil
2) Tekken

6) Assassin’s Creed (?)

Jin or Kazuya will in no way get in over Elderly Ryu who is the poster boy and mascot of Tekken. Mascots/Poster Boys are always the first picks when it comes to reps from new franchises.

Pretty much the Poster Boy in that case.

Slime is the the mascot and poster thingy for Dragon Quest who's made the most crossover appearances of the DQ characters and yet Hero is in Smash.

Heihachi just happens to have more crossover appearances than Kaz and Jin (perhaps because of being Harada's favorite). All three of them can be considered equals unlike with Ryu being the obvious SF rep. Kazuya and Jin even appear in the Namco intro.

Like I said before, with Tekken it's similiar to Resident Evil in terms of main characters seeing as it's just not a single individual.

Another Smash Online Open was announced, pretty much the same rules as last time, 1v1, 3 stock, no items. The only difference is that Castle Seige and Frigate are out of the stage list. Top 4 get to go to Genesis
