To be fair, none of us are exempt from that. We all have our own reasons of preferring some stuff over other stuff (some reasonings more superficial than others), and like Zinith said, color scheme and visual appeal play a huge part in it. I also think that since DK games are similar to Mario games (I know there's plenty of differences but they are still the same genre) they may get their fill of platform games from the latter.
On the bright side, Tropical Freeze for the Switch sold decently in Japan.

I am right now at McDonalds.
Gonna eat two cheeseburgers, an oreo cake, a coke drink and fries.
And the best part is that all the weight gained will be lost basically quickly by walking everywhere and not stopping as I tend to do when I don't take my medicaments.

While it definitely sucks that she didn't make it in as a fighter (or even an assist trophy, although I like to think that she still has a slight chance at being playable because of it), it's still cool to see the Shantae series be among the couple of indie titles acknowledged in Smash.I made a smash meme about the indie characters in the game

You can’t generalise an entire country based on how a select number choose to purchase their games. Colour-scheme and aesthetic is incredibly important to making a first impression, the first thing you see for any physical game is just the box-art. All it can take for somebody to overlook a game is to glance at its box-art and turn away after a second of looking. It also isn’t just because of the colour - the more general Western-cartoon styling, the similarities to Mario, the simple idea of playing as a giant ape rather than something more human, those factors and more all play a part.

One of my coworkers is the worst Smash player I've ever seen.
To be fair, this is his first Smash game since 64 but he's been playing since release and his basics are still severely lacking. He constantly recovers high so I end up constantly stuffing his second jump, didn't know how to do Nairs until recently and he still barely uses them, tends to SD way too often off stage by accidentaly using Stall & Drop Dairs like ZSS's and Sonic's. It's very common for him to take his own stock 2 or even 4 times per match (we play 4 stocks).
I've actually tried to advise him. I'd showed him why recovering high can be a risky option because he can be easily intercepted, yet he keeps doing it. I'm pretty patient with him, but I confess that is frustrating to play against someone who can't put up a decent fight because they keep killing themselves. He also gets frustrated at his losses, but he doesn't work in his fundamentals.
The lowest point was one time he was using Falco. He was offstage and used his Neutral B to shoot a laser, but then he kept shooting lasers all the way down to the blastzone. The whole time he was screaming "What the hell! I can't do anything else! I'm stuck!" And I'm like "Dude...". He explained to me that once he started shooting he couldn't jump nor use a recovery move. I died a little inside. How? How does one get stuck shooting Falco's lasers off stage? If you want to shoot just press the B button once, and then you can input literally anything else and make it back. This happened at least two more times.

Yeah what Sabi said is absolutely ****ed up and she shouldn't have used such topics as a punchline no matter the situation. Her attitude and whatnot as a whole recently has been kinda **** but this is beyond just weird/awkward it's ****ty and awful.

Wow, all of that merch is awesome. o3o And well, at first I was puzzled not seeing BoTW Link in the poster, but then I saw the actual page and there he is. Though, it still surprises me that they didn't put him in the main merch considering how popular the game is in comparison to TP. Not that I mind it though, as TP is one of my all time favorite games that I will always trasure even if most people prefer the ones that came after or before it. (I feel the same about Rayman 3 and AC: Rogue).From here. There's a banner with more characters, too.
