I haven’t played every Pokémon game but out of the ones I have, Ruby is my favorite. I spent a good chunk of my childhood working on my Pokédex. Got pretty far too, feebas took me like eight years to find though >:(

Also I'm seeing Farfetch'd get caught up in the "Gen 1 favoritism" arguments while I was over here thinking it was a gen II Pokemon this entire time

Funny thing is, looking through them, Gen 5 has some of the MOST solid design of most of the games. I mean Cubchoo, adorable snotty bear. Krookadile, cool *** gangster lizardile. Chandelure, cool *** idea for a evolutionary line. Haxorus, BAD ***. Samurott, probably the single most sickest final evolution for a water starter. Then you got the Vanillite line, ice cream, ****ing ice cream but bigger, ****ing double ****ing scoop ****ing ice cream ****ing WHAT THE **** IS A CREATIVE?
It's an icicle that has snow collected on it to resemble ice cream.

Vanillite is an ice cream cup, Vanillish is an ice cream cone, and Vanilluxe is a sundae.

Edit: okay fine the last part is stretching it, but my point still stands.

I take it Pokémon is still the topic of the day?
What’s tomorrow’s topic then? How to make the world’s best Chocolate-filled Donuts?

I burnt out on a lot of Kanto designs because of overexposure during Pokemania, and there's something off about Hoenn designs in general that I can't put my finger on (although there's certainly a lot I like), maybe it's growing pains with designing Pokemon that can be displayed on 32 bit technology, but other than that each region is usually filled with Pokemon I love and I don't think "oh, this region sucks." By the current record though gen 8 is set to be my least favorite in terms of new designs by a considerable margin, which is pretty disappointing.

That said, I gave up memorizing all the Pokemon names by gen 5, so take that how you will.

Challenge: Poké rap but with every single Pokémon.
Including Megas, Alola forms, Galar forms, and Gigamax/Dynamax ‘Mons.

Can I destroy my autocorrect now?

I will say one thing very positive about something I'm looking forward to in Sword and Shield, since I've been so down on it.

Sigilyph is in it. Not only is Sigilyph one of my favorite Pokémon, but it being in the Galar Dex has some serious lore implications and I'm excited to see how it goes.

I don’t think I have a least favorite generation for designs, but my favorites are gens 6 & 7. Really creative, well designed creatures.

as for the gen with the all around best designs imho? I wanna say gen 6

it's currently the gen with least amount of new mons introduced, but I'd say 90% of em are top notch. An excellent example of quality over quantity

Greninja, Xerneas, Zygarde, Tyrantrum, Mewostic, Goodra, Aegislash, Malamar, Noivern, the list goes on

there's a reason I like X&Y more than most people do.

So, I have returned.

I went to a Dentist appointment along with my sister, as usual my teeth are 100% healthy while my sis has at least 1 cavity. After we dropped her off at one of her friends' house, my mom and I went to a local chicken resteraunt for some dinner (it smelled kinda weird though.)

We still talkin' Pokerman?

My favorite gen for designs will always be 4. It has my favorite starters and I love the new evolutions they added in, they gave Pokemon like Yanma and Misdreavus a chance to shine whereas they would previously be forgotten. Weavile, Honchkrow, Roserade, Gliscor, and others rank highly as some of my favorite Pokemon. And there are so many great standalone Pokemon/families as well; Croagunk/Toxicroak, Starly (etc.), Shinx (etc.), Vespiquen, Drifloon/Drifbloom, Shellos/Gastrodon, Skorupi/Drapion, Snover/Abomasnow... my only complaint I guess would be too many legendaries, but if I listed my top 10 favorite Pokemon, I wouldn't be surprised if half of them were from gen 4.

Favorite pokémon designs?

Gen 5 was pretty nice. Gen 7 with the UBs and the Legendaries were pretty good, and as were the starters.

So um, actually what that person said earlier about odd gens is true. Although Gen 4 had the Creation Trio + Arceus so they win from the even numbered Gens beyond maybe Gen 6.

Gen 2 is the most forgettable for me by far.

Some ridiculous thought that just came into my head:
Most people on YouTube: *long intro*
Gordon Ramsay on YouTube: “First off, were gonna make the dough.”

Try and find the exact video Ramsay said that exact quote.

I opened up my old gen 3 save file for the first time in like a year. Seems it’s finally gotten corrupted. :( rip

I really like Dyna/Gigantimaxing in theory. I'm a bit iffy on some of the designs we've seen so far, but the concept is solid.

Anyway with Halloween approaching and this Pokemon talk as well as having recently used Houndoom in Platinum, this avatar seemed appropriate.

It's crazy that Platinum was the first time Houndour was available before the postgame. It truly has the best Dex in the whole series. They added a few Pokemon unrelated to the Sinnoh evolutions like Scyther, Altaria and Houndour, and all three of them were fantastic choices that brought some much needed variety to Sinnoh. Before Platinum I only used Houndoom by transferring an egg in gen 2, lol.
