I somewhat agree, but I differ in thinking this is harmless, or a middle ground.
GF 100% wants to milk as much money as possible while cutting as much costs as possible, judging from what's happened so far.

I love this so much!

This really is screaming FINAL SMASH.

Oh, I can just picture Meowth breaking that Smash Ball and growing tall with glowing yellow eyes and then causing an earthquake (burying opponents) and making coins rain from the sky (hitting opponents everywhere like the Pokeball Meowth).

Also apparently Pikachu has enough electrical power to rival a power plant.

If anyone's seen Gnoggin and his video on Electivire, then you'd know how insane that is.

Hey y'all. Been a few days since I posted here last. Figured might as well share my quick thoughts on the Pokemon news:

Design-wise, the Gigantamax Pokemon are good. Not my faves. But I like all of them.

Especially Chonky Pikachu

Gen 1 bias is obviously there, and while it does annoy me a little bit, I'm not even surprised at this point so whatever.

Still don't really like the fact that Pikachu and Eevee are locked behind other games, but at the very least, you can just borrow 2 copies from a friend and get em' for free. Still don't like the practice though.

No starter evos isn't even surprising at this point, and now I genuinely think they're either gonna save them for the very last pre-release reveal or not reveal them at all. And I really hope it's the former.

Anyway yeah, that's all I got.

I honestly don't know what to think. On one hand it's hard for me to get invested in a gimmick that will be gone next gen, on the other hand all this Gen 1 pandering (and especially Charizard) is really annoying... and that's coming from someone who likes Gen 1.

Hell, due to this just being another gimmick, I can't even be excited to get this old-school Pikachu. I mean, it's a nice throwback and all, but it just won't be sticking around for the future. Not to mention, Dynamaxing can't even be done everywhere, it's limited to special battles from what they have said. Meaning if you want to use these Pikachu/Eevee/Meowth forms, you have to keep an unevolved Pokemon with you in your party, which is just hindering yourself.

At least they gave Butterfree some attention, after being cheated out on a Mega despite Beedrill getting one. I just wish the Johto trio wouldn't be so neglected. Especially Meganium could need some love.
