If you just like platformers, you’ll probably still love it.But would it have the same impact to someone who’s not a huge Mario fan?
I liked that show for the five minutes it was on.The thing with Robot and Monster is that the show got pulled away so fast, there was like an entire seasons worth of lost episodes.
Does branding make literally any video game automatically bad?Idk. From what i’ve Seen it still looks pretty safe.
Like, I feel like if you stripped Odyssey if it’s Mario banding, it wouldn’t get as much praise. Maybe i’ll Sing a different tune if I ever actually play it. But that’s the impression i’ve Got from what i’ve Seen.
Dave the Barbarian! If we’re going by just memories, then I do remember some cartoon with a buff guy and a talking sword that was female, but I don’t know what it was called. The memory is so old and I feel like I was a baby because I was stuck on a bed or something and couldn’t get up; don’t know how it’s still in my head...
There were also some cartoons on Discovery Channel and whatever that I’m not sure how to explain.
Alright, so the way I see it, the worst Yoshi games are New Island (obviously), Topsy-Turvy and Yoshi's Safari. I don't know if Touch & Go counts as a "game" technically much in the same way those Zelda Picross ones on the eShop don't.I would never do that. Honestly, I feel like, when judging the quality of a series, you need to drop the 2-3 worst games in the series from your perception. Like how a college professor will drop your lowest test score.
People hate Nuts and Bolts pretty much exclusively because it’s branded a Banjo game. I say there’s a precedent.Does branding make literally any video game automatically bad?
And that’s why it’s going on the Christmas list and not the self-purchase list. I’ll probably be more lenient on it if I don’t have to pay for it.If you just like platformers, you’ll probably still love it.
If you hate Mario and want the poor plumber dead, you’d probably hate it even if it was the best game of all time.
oh, that’s what it was?Dave the Barbarian!
Bejabbers!
Man, Mario didn’t do **** to you.People hate Nuts and Bolts pretty much exclusively because it’s branded a Banjo game. I say there’s a precedent.

Not on purpose he didn’t. But he has plenty to answer for.Man, Mario didn’t do **** to you.
We really live in a society.
...the **** did he do???Not on purpose he didn’t. But he has plenty to answer for.
I’ll give him a fair shot. But he’s going to have to do an awful lot to make up for what he’s done.
You know. I’ve spoken about it before....the **** did he do???
People only hate Nuts & Bolts because it’s not Banjo-Threeie and ditches the series’ previous genre.People hate Nuts and Bolts pretty much exclusively because it’s branded a Banjo game. I say there’s a precedent.

Nintendo killed all these dead platforming series with Mario like...the **** did he do???
Ya makin it sound like he’s committed war crimes Jesus Christ.
I don't know if I agree with this just yet. I kinda wanna hear more specificsYoshi games are fun, but I think a lot of people get this "rinse and repeat" feeling from them.
I've played every game in the series, and it didn't recapture my attention until Woolly World (and even then, the art style and music is what drew me to it, not the gameplay.) I just don't think it's a series that can pull off repetitiveness like 2D Mario games can, or at least not as well. Each game needs something really innovative in order to convince people to buy it, whereas new power-ups are usually enough for 2D Mario games. There doesn't need to be any drastic changes in gameplay for the latter.
You know. I’ve spoken about it before.
And I don’t feel like making people even more angry by repeating it so I am officially clamming up.
Sonic Adventure 3You know what series really deserves a comeback after so many memes about the quality of the series dwindling over the years?
Sonic the ****ing Hedgehog. One of the most iconic video game characters deserves better.

You’re an enigma wrapped in an anomaly contained in a very very concerning jar.
Sonic Adventure 3
Snake oh my god.People hate Nuts and Bolts pretty much exclusively because it’s branded a Banjo game. I say there’s a precedent.
If it wasn’t for Mario there wouldn’t be video games anymore. At least not how we know them.Y’know, if it wasn’t for Mario, Bubsy and tank controls would probably be leading the 3D platformer market right now.
*flashbacks of Bubsy 3D* Oh dear god, anything but that.Y’know, if it wasn’t for Mario, Bubsy and tank controls would probably be leading the 3D platformer market right now.
Well also straight, linear 3D stages established by Crash BandicootY’know, if it wasn’t for Mario, Bubsy and tank controls would probably be leading the 3D platformer market right now.
True.If it wasn’t for Mario there wouldn’t be video games anymore. At least not how we know them.
No it'd be Sonic. Imagine the timeline where Nintendo lost the 90s console wars.Y’know, if it wasn’t for Mario, Bubsy and tank controls would probably be leading the 3D platformer market right now.
I'm saying that I'd probably buy another 2D Mario game if it had some cool new power-ups. I'd need a little more convincing with Yoshi.I don't know if I agree with this just yet. I kinda wanna hear more specifics
Yoshi isn't a series that's heavily reliant on power-ups as Mario is...
I think you are spot on overall. The collecting isn't as diverse as I would have hoped, but it's a fun game to complete and I love the worlds. Copying abilities was neat, although not an idea that should be revisited. I don't think it can have as much as an impact a second time around.I have a gaming confession to make, I apologize for saying what I'm about to say in advance. Ready? Ok.
Mario Odyssey was a bit of a disappointment for me. I know, I know, but hear me out. My issues with the game come from a few things. I feel like aside from standout worlds like Luncheon Kingdom or New Donk City, most of the worlds kinda felt a little standard. Still beautiful stages that were fun to play, but a bit on the standard Mario side. This one doesn't bother me too much, it's more of a nitpick.
Another thing I wasn't too fond of is that Moons just weren't satisfying to get. It's a collectathon, so I was hoping collecting things would feel more impactful, I suppose. But Moons are so common, and you can get them so easily in some cases that they stop feeling like a reward, and more like just things you need to move on to the next world.
My last issue is the soundtrack, which aside from standouts like Jump Up, Superstar!, Brake Free, Wooded Kingdom and New Donk just felt a little forgettable, I feel. Don't get me wrong, they're all good tracks but some just don't stand out to me and kind of blend in a little.
Overall, I still really enjoyed the game (that ending was phenomenal, btw), It just didn't feel as memorable overall as the Galaxy games or 64.
He doesn’t want more capturesI think you are spot on overall. The collecting isn't as diverse as I would have hoped, but it's a fun game to complete and I love the worlds. The final boss/segment is definitely memorable though. It's unique for Mario, and I love the moon setting.
Galaxy remains the best 3D Mario experience in my book.
If it wasn't for the fact I'm personally obligated to buy every first party Switch title, I would probably pass on getting another "New Super Mario Bros." game. Snakefighter does have some point in that. So are you saying that you hold Yoshi to a higher standard than 2D Mario? Because "cool new power-up" comes off as that...I'm saying that I'd probably buy another 2D Mario game if it had some cool new power-ups. I'd need a little more convincing with Yoshi.
- Give me something almost identical to the orginal or New Island - I'm not interested.
- Give me something similar to DS where different babies/Yoshis have different skills - I might be interested.
- Give me something like Woolly World where the entire game has a themed shtick, like a whole game made out of food and sweets - I'm interested in what the game has to offer.
Mario wasn't there when she needed him for a leak fix. Also, I can't help but wonder what exactly Mario did to SnakeFighter64 that's so terrible. I want to know, but at the same time maybe I don't.
