Howdy!
Calling 2D Mario safe is a kinda true.
Calling 3D Mario safe is worth a spankin.

Yeah. It definitely needs a lot of quality of life tweaks like the Banjo remasters on 360 at the very least (which is what I hope they will do on a hypothetical Rare Replay on the Switch) but I would love them to go full Crash/Spyro with it.We definitely need a remastered version of Donkey Kong 64.
Is it just me, or are you ignoring all of the people who say things even remotely against your opinion?Yeah. I feel like Mario's charm is being abstract and weird, but they actually are very consistent at the same time. Look at pretty much any Mario game, you'll always see grasslands, deserts, jungles, sky worlds, etc.I get a lot of guff for saying this. And I will admit I haven’t played most of Mario’s games (though I have watched many a review and lets play so I feel like I at least have an idea), but Mario has always felt more... safe? Like, it’s to abstract and weird to feel like it’s a consistent world you’re exploring. Whereas DK has always felt more natural. It has more charm than Mario.
Heck. If it makes you feel better, i’ll get the free year of NSO and try out the available Mario games.
.....
Well maybe they should have given Mickey a Disney Afternoon show.
I'm not saying the Yoshi games aren't "part of the Mario world." I'm saying it is its own franchise with its own focus and mechanics. Of course, Wario's series started off similarly (Wario Land wasn't even a prequel that took place decades before, it was a direct sequel to Super Mario Land 2), yet everyone conveniently forgets thatYoshi is part of the Mario world thou. To say it isn't is delusional imo. Especially considering this exists:

I've said it so many times now, This beautiful piece of modern art! /sAlright, subject change.
What is the most obscure cartoon you know of?
Do anime count? Cause if they do I have a different answer. But the most obscure American cartoon I know is Martin Mystery.Alright, subject change.
What is the most obscure cartoon you know of?
I used that on Nicktoons, surprised someone else remembers it.Do anime count? Cause if they do I have a different answer. But the most obscure American cartoon I know is Martin Mystery.
I would say Oswald the Lucky Rabbit but that’s probably not true anymore thanks to Epic Mickey.Alright, subject change.

For your funeral, would you like carnations or chrysanthemums?Honestly, out of all the Mario subseries, being DK, Yoshi, and Wario Land... I would say Yoshi's is the least memorable. Like, the 1st game was legit very good, the rest, bad to just good, but nothing truly magical like Wario Land or Donkey Kong Country.
In fact, it probably had the most stinkers of the 2D Mario games, expanded universe included.
I mean, I'm not beating around the bush when I say games like Topsy Turvy and New Island kinda sucked. For your funeral, would you like carnations or chrysanthemums?
A great wrath is being invoked.I mean, I'm not beating around the bush when I say games like Topsy Turvy and New Island kinda sucked.
Sam and Max for sure.Alright, subject change.

The most stinkers? So..... one?Honestly, out of all the Mario subseries, being DK, Yoshi, and Wario Land... I would say Yoshi's is the least memorable. Like, the 1st game was legit very good, the rest, bad to just good, but nothing truly magical like Wario Land or Donkey Kong Country.

Obscure cartoon? Well there was this one called kappa mikey I used to watch. I don’t think it was on for very long.Alright, subject change.

New Island was bad in the fact that it just didn't have an identity, it just took everything from the first one and made it... worse. That's all it was, the first game, but worse. And I can't really defend a game that's just makes me wish I was playing the prequel. The most stinkers? So..... one?

It isn't even "bad" from an overall standpoint, just mediocre in regards to Yoshi's Island.
I loved that show. Wish it had more of a following. I think it’s pretty good.I used that on Nicktoons, surprised someone else remembers it.
My dad played the Wii version of jungle beat when I was small. It looked fine. Also, how's about that Donkey Konga or Jungle Beat or DK: King of Swing?
Interesting how none of those games get brought up...
No, I'm not bashing DK games. But it's fair game if you want to bring up "quality"
Imo I only knew this thing even existed via Poker Night at the Inventory(both of them)Sam and Max for sure.

It's humor is not like anything I've seen before. It's fast-paced and chaotic, but also surprisingly intelligent. I'd recommend it if you're interested in something different.
And when people talk about Yoshi games, they're talking about the ones made in-house or by Good Feel.My dad played the Wii version of jungle beat when I was small. It looked fine.
But when most people talk about the DK games, they’re talking about the ones made by Rare and Retro.
Uh...Kappa Mikey, I guess?Alright, subject change.
What is the most obscure cartoon you know of?
Idk. From what i’ve Seen it still looks pretty safe.Wasn't Super Mario Odyssey praised for refining what made 3d Mario good while adding fresh takes for the whole series? It's why New Donk City is one of the highlights for some people.
I wish it was on the channels we had more often. Problem is a lot of old shows were on "premium channels" that weren't in Manitowoc. I missed all of Dragon Ball due to this. -_- I was able to see classic DBZ, classic DBZ uncut, DBZ Kai, DBZ Kai uncut, DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters, DBGT, and as of now, Super, so it's not all bad. Cartoon Network came at a good time. Funny how a lot of its anime moved to other channels unless it was more adult. Pokemon not being on there is weiiiird.I used that on Nicktoons, surprised someone else remembers it.
I'm not sire if it's obscure, but...Alright, subject change.
What is the most obscure cartoon you know of?
Dawg, I’ve played it. Not watched it, played it.Idk. From what i’ve Seen it still looks pretty safe.
Like, I feel like if you stripped Odyssey if it’s Mario banding, it wouldn’t get as much praise. Maybe i’ll Sing a different tune if I ever actually play it. But that’s the impression i’ve Got from what i’ve Seen.
I would never do that. Honestly, I feel like, when judging the quality of a series, you need to drop the 2-3 worst games in the series from your perception. Like how a college professor will drop your lowest test score. And when people talk about Yoshi games, they're talking about the ones made in-house or by Good Feel.
Oh wait, no. I guess it's fine to bring up the Artoon Yoshi games to drag it through the mud but not the Paon titles for DK?![]()
I actually remember really enjoying that show. Me as a kid never would have guessed it would become so obscure.Obscure cartoon? Well there was this one called kappa mikey I used to watch. I don’t think it was on for very long.
But would it have the same impact to someone who’s not a huge Mario fan?Dawg, I’ve played it. Not watched it, played it.
It’s not safe, it’s rad.
Considering everyone here is bringing it up, I don’t think it’s actually that obscure.I actually remember really enjoying that show. Me as a kid never would have guessed it would become so obscure.
