Any man (or woman) who bets their account has dignity in my book.I'd lose my dignity, that's for sure
Oh wait, I don't think you can lose what you never had tho....![]()
Hi. It's me.Who started this anyway?
YAWN.Doom Slayer
Probably because he was less of a priority over all the other characters we’ve gotten over the years.
I'm going to ask the age old question:
If it's so easy then why hasn't Sakurai done it????
Maybe Sakurai doesn't believe in Geno selling. I mean, we're just talking how easy it is to get character rights. And a Nintendo character owned by Square Enix that has nothing being done with them is definitely not harder to get than Sora.Nah dude you're gucci. I get it. Don't feel pressured or anything.
still if you could visit every now and again I'm sure it'd be appreciated think of it like visiting your lame grandparents you gotta do it but you don't like it((((((

Strong bet for a character who literally only has popularity going for him.@BolderousnessDaybreakHorizon
I'm joining the bet, if Geno don't come in Ultimate I delete my account(like you Bolderousness I don't want Sora but I fear a little that he join smash so I'm just betting on Geno's arrvial ^^)
Guh-huh!Strong bet for a character who literally only has popularity going for him.
reminder that sakurai in his somewhat unusual way of thinking considers this perfectly legitimate representation for 'joining the battle'Guh-huh!

At the very least Banjo & Kazooie are the main characters of a franchise people still remember fondly and are from a company that was considered Nintendo's golden boy back in the day. Fan demand was obviously a big part of why they were included but it's not the only thing they had.Guh-huh!

Wolfman.I'm considering changing my avatar to a Pokémon from the Spaceworld 1997 prototype.
Which one I'm not sure right now.
"Ridley is too big to join Smash!"Sorry, I just can't see Disney letting Sora in. He's jointly owned so they'd probably have a say in the matter. They have absolutely nothing to gain from it and ultimately they seem pretty against the KH characters in a fighting habitat.
Wait isn't half the appeal of KH being Disney characters beating the **** out of things? Where's this fighting habitat argument coming from?If it comes down to Sora or Geno?
Geno's getting in.

That and I'm sure if Disney was approached about Smash in their own capacity and was receptive?
They'd probably want like Mickey Mouse or some ****.
And if Disney offers you Mickey Mouse you take him.
Sorry, he might just be a cult popular choice, but I feel Geno has the way better shot between the two purely because of the Disney of it all.

More fighters, less problems. That's what I say. The spirits argument can get thrown into the trash and it's not like Sakurai can't just make Geno's fighter render his personal spirit. It's like Ura's Advance Wars argument but way more applicable to Geno.At the very least Banjo & Kazooie are the main characters of a franchise people still remember fondly and are from a company that was considered Nintendo's golden boy back in the day. Fan demand was obviously a big part of why they were included but it's not the only thing they had.
Slightest nitpick in the world but Tails has never been straight yellow.Tails and/or Knuckles make sense as the next Sonic characters. They’re his best friends, the main sonic heroes. Red, yellow and blue.
I'll take Tails or Eggman. They've been there since the beginning so seniority and importance trumps for me.But goddammit I want Eggman.
i'll throw the spirits argument in the trash once a character actually gets upgradedThe spirits argument can get thrown into the trash
The time is now brother. Rescind your heathenish ways and join us.i'll throw the spirits argument in the trash once a character actually gets upgraded
until then, nah
Banjo-Kazooie (the game) had an impact on a huge genre and Banjo & Kazooie are the main characters of that game. They’re also a symbol of a bygone era of 3D platformers in the 90’s, and of a company that was constantly pushing the boundaries of gaming, specifically within Nintendo. Even before they were revealed for Smash, you could find countless retrospective videos on their games and the landscape of gaming they helped define.Guh-huh!

Sure. Can someone explain to me what's going on in Zelda's Final smash??
Disney is the most powerful and in control of their brand company in the world. They rule with an iron fist and don't play ball easily. It's exactly why they're in the current Spider-Man situation they're in now with Sony. They want what they want and they're hard to break."Ridley is too big to join Smash!"
*gets added*
"King K. Rool is irreverent!"
*gets added*
"Banjo-Kazooie will never get added because they're owned by Microsoft!"
*gets added*
Never say never. At this point who knows what the madman Sakurai might be able to pull off. Any 3rd party is possible at this point.
Dissida was to be a Kingdom Hearts fighting game. Disney told Square no sir/ma'am. Hence it became a Final Fantasy fighting game instead.Wait isn't half the appeal of KH being Disney characters beating the **** out of things? Where's this fighting habitat argument coming from?
Yeah but it’s why he’s popular in the first place, why people have been clamoring for a new game for YEARS, and why people wanted him in Smash. And let's be honest with ourselves, no matter how strongly we argue Banjo's legacy, no way in Hell is that why he's back. I ain't backing down yet.
I question wether Akechi would win against Goro, even in his own head. But yeah, that would be very on brand for NRS.Kung Lao's quest to avenge his ancestor is cut short by Goro having a mental breakdown, because of some teen stealing from his head cave, and being unable to compete in a Mortal Kombat tournament ever again, leaving Lao with no closure whatsoever for the rest of his life. With how NRS treated him in MK11, this wouldn't even be out of line tbh.
To be fair this is drastically minimalizing Super Mario RPG's impact on the Mario Brand IMO.Geno wouldn’t be the same. Geno isn’t a beloved, influential gaming icon because Super Mario RPG revolutionized RPGs (it didn’t. It was just one of Square’s many fantastic RPGs from the 90’s).
Tbh, N64 collectathons we're a product of their time and actually kinda suck now.
A lot of them haven’t aged well. That’s just what happens when publishers pump out games to fit whatever genre is hip at the time. We’ll look back in 10 or so years and find only a handful of really memorable shooters or “open-world story-driven Adventure game with RPG elements wow”.Tbh, N64 collectathons we're a product of their time and actually kinda suck now.
Spyro I think counts too, it wasn't on the N64 but it was of the same era.A lot of them haven’t aged well. Some of those platformers still hold up though. Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and probably a few others I haven’t played.
Not to mention, he’s the last one. The last of the big 4.To be fair this is drastically minimalizing Super Mario RPG's impact on the Mario Brand IMO.
Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi solely exist because Nintendo embraced and fully explored the RPG concept with Mario BECAUSE of Legend of the Seven Stars success.
In a way while yes Paper Mario might better represent the RPG series better? Geno can kind of serve as a grandfather figure for all Mario RPGs because of his immense lasting popularity due to Smash.
Forgive him father. He knows not what he do.Tbh, N64 collectathons we're a product of their time and actually kinda suck now.
Oh, I understand how it was impactful on the Mario brand, and that the early Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario games I love wouldn’t exist because of it.To be fair this is drastically minimalizing Super Mario RPG's impact on the Mario Brand IMO.
