Anyway, I gotta say that was a really anti-climatic ending.
I don't know if it affects anything but I took the Golden Deer route.

Only two fights with the true villains near the end and it's over. One that takes place in an underground city which they didn't really explore much and then Nemisis just kind of pops up in the end with very little build up and no foreshadow to suggest he was alive before then. And even on Hard/Classic the battle wasn't really difficult aside from Nemisis himself having bloated stats.

I also expected some sort of gigantic beast or dragon to be the final boss. Maybe even have the Sword of the Creator transform Nemisis the same way the Lance of Ruin did to that guy in the first half. Monsters in that game seemed to have been practically designed to be boss fights so it's really weird they didn't go with that.

What a disappointing way to end to such a fun game.
the other routes' endings will be much more to your liking then

personally i loved GD's final boss but he does feel a bit out of place in a game specifically focused on beast enemies and gambit mechanics

I get what you mean. Gentlepanda is right in the sense that the suddenness of the final boss itself is not present in the other Houses.

Although...

Personally I felt Golden Deer's ending felt the least incomplete out of the three Houses. Wrapping the story up is Three House's weakest aspect across the board unfortunately. It is as if there was a time crunch when it came to the tail end of the stories.

Hopefully the DLC story does a better job with the conclusion (which I suspect is partially the point of it) without diminishing the quality of the journey.

You remember Fred (T.J. Miller) from Big Hero 6? Remember when he said he wanted to become a giant lizard?

Well call that a big ****tease because...

He actually does that in the comics

Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure that, as far as Disney's concerned, the comics no longer exist

if you mean 'conclusion' with regards to TH's main story, i believe the TH story DLC is its own completely separate thing and not related to the main scenario in any way (i.e. not featuring byleth at all)

Speaking of DLC, wonder when we're going to get our next batch of announcements, and what they'll be. 2018 was a good year in that respect, netting us the Octo Expansion, Torna and Donkey Kong Adventure (though probably cos 2018 was a bit light on the full releases). Don't feel like we've had as much in 2019 so far, other than Captain Toad and DLC for that platform fighter whose name evades me at the moment.

C'mon September/October direct

That's kinda random but cool I guess

it's more that there's zero indication he could still be alive or preserved right up until the point he busts out his coffin in shambhala and so he just ends up feeling a bit tacked on

compared to the final bosses of the other routes, who they spend a lot of time building up and developing, the final battle of GD comes off much more as "oh btw nemesis is alive and also the ten elites are with him for whatever reason"

they don't even explain why the ten elites are with him, so you're only left to assume that they were also somehow being preserved by spooky evil magic

That's good. Early morning rise again?

True. They'll be an interesting duo to use for sure. I look forward to it.

All of this talk about Fire Emblem Three Houses is making me really want to play it.
Being completely honest though, I was already sold on the game when I first saw Edelgard. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I figured, since I heard you live in the UK.

Did you have an early rise TODAY, though? That's what I'm asking. And when do you go to bed on average?

Why?
Well, english it's not my native language, and i'm a great fan of Ace Attorney, so I bought the Trilogy on Switch. The problem is that they're translating the Game to 5 different languages... Excluding mine

I'm from Swiss to be precise.

Also, I have to wake up early for work, and a problem with me is that I tend to go later to bed, but I tend to do that because I run the risk of not sleeping well if I go to bed too soon. That, and gonig from vacation sleep schedule to work sleep schedule is a pain in the ass the first few weekend, tho I'm slowy getting better at it.

I feel like this one's different

Fire Emblem just doesn't seem like my cup of tea. I like RPGs, but FE never really appealed to me at all.
Would recommend giving Valkyria Chronicles (or Codename STEAM) a try then. Technically a Strategy RPG but how it approaches combat/positioning is radically different than the grid/chess-based system of FE/Shining Force/FF Tactics. The real-time aspect of combat might be more engaging for some while the stories are generally more grounded.
