This is probably a little random, but does anyone have advice for Perfect Dark for beginners? I tried Googling it and looking it up on Youtube, but all I came up with were beginners guides to Dark Souls, and videos of Special and Perfect Agent runs that likely won't help because the people playing them are experts at the game.

I found the Nintendo Power guide in PDF format, but I don't want to rely on it. My main problems are aiming accurately (I never played Goldeneye or Perfect Dark, and I've barely played any console FPSes, so a lot of this is new to me) and figuring out where to go. (I got lost during the second mission, with seemingly every path being a dead end, so that's a clear sign of how bad I am at this)

If it's an Echo: Kasumi Yoshizawa
If it isn't: Geno. or maybe someone like Bandana Dee or Elma (though I prefer the latter to be in the pass if just for an X stage and music)

To be fair, I’m absolutely not sold on the idea of a bonus character, nor do I believe that we’re getting a 2nd Fighter Pass. Both are wishful thinking if you ask me.

I think the Bonus Fighter idea is put out there because some folks feel their pick isn’t getting in through the Fighter Pass. Therefore, their path is through a Bonus.

In terms of the 2nd Pass, it’s similar. I feel some folks have an idea of what’s coming, and therefore are thinking an idea that is so awesome, so alluring, that it simply is going to happen...everybody would love a 2nd Fighter Pass, so it could happen! But that’s not entirely accurate, based on budgetary reasons I would imagine.

As I always say, expect one Fighter Pass, and nothing more. Anything else is setting oneself up for disappointment. Though, I will say, the perfect way to reveal a character like Edelgard, for example, would be to just drop Edelgard some time after the first pass finishes, and then just have it say:

“Season 2: Challenger Pack 1: Edelgard”

Sure, salt would flow because, “BAH ANIME WAIFU EMBLEM”, but the concept of a 2nd Pass would be too hype for folks to care I think.

(Edelgard is best House leader and would be sick in Smash, fight me in an arena, cowards!)

I don't really get why the idea of a bonus character is so popular, they aren't going to release a character for free and releasing a paid character outside of the fighter pass would be kind of sketchy imo. Piranha Plant was more or less a pre order bonus and something like that doesn't seem likely to happen again.

Imagine the final bonus character being Porky Minch being announced and western localization of Mother 3 as Reggie's final gift to his fans.

I haven't played Perfect Dark but I have played Goldeneye.

You should basically have a constant auto aim, so you can run around and more or less just point at enemies. Going into the aim mode will basically let you target specific things, such as objects that need shooting or enemy limbs and heads. If the targeting works like it does in Goldeneye, the reticle will centre itself when not moving the analogue stick. Aiming tends involve pulling reticle out from the centre in the right amounts and letting go to quickly recentre. Try not to spend too much time trying to aim right unless there's enough distance between you and enemies. For groups where the auto aim isn't fast enough, quick flicks of the stick tend to help.

This means nothing. We could, after getting the two remaining fighters, be stuck with one blank slot for the rest of our lives. Also they could easily add more rows if necessary.

People will make a theory out anything these days.

People just want an extra chance for their favourite to get in.

After Smash 4's final "it's literally in the name" presentation, I still saw people asking what's the possibility of getting a surprise character afer Corrin and Bayo.

Same reason people fought against the Box theory or hoped for DLC for Brawl, they want their desired character in and believe that by pushing the idea of more content that character will have another chance.

I remember when the stage select screen was evidence for 5 more stages and therefore more characters (I'm still upset Nintendo didn't clarify, since now we know those were the only stages in the base game--there was no secret to keep), and a DLC button. And now we know regardless if there's a bonus stage or button, either on the stage selection screen, or the random stage selection screen, there will inevitably be blank spaces. It looks to be the sort of thing we care about that Sakurai and his team doesn't.

So I don't think it says anything now--there could very well be a blank space left over. But, I don't think it's unlikely to have a character with two voice slots coming, since Hero got four for each alt character. But... given what I said above, it's just as likely to have a character or two that have multiple voice slots awaiting and it won't be perfectly squared up in the end.

If there's a Bonus character bias aside I'm fairly confident in saying it would be Geno. The Missing Mii costume is hella suspicious they have the rights to the character so the Geno mii costume would be free money but it's not there? I find that suspicious. If Geno were to get in I think he'd be a Bonus Character, If there were to be a bonus Character I think it would be Geno.
