I imagine that can be stressful. I don’t really know what to say to that, but it doesn’t sound fun.

You can have your political views, but that guy who shoves their own down someone else’s throat isn’t fun. I have mine, but I’m not gonna go door to door and cram them into people’s ears.
If only more people in the world can see this.

Nothing to apologize for.

Though that's a thing too. One of the first comments on our Fire Emblem parody was "This isn't Gundam!" Like, we're allowed to make other stuff, back off.
Well ‘aint that YouTube.

Whoever that is is being pretty ignorant. If you ask me, find the right balance between what your fans want and what you want. Please your viewers and have fun in the process.

For the record, I thought the FE vid was a great, funny change of pace.

To clarify, I'm not upset at the tweet response or whatever. I very much disagree with what he's trying to say and would love to debate him on it, but he has every right to say it. Twitter is a public platform.

What's new and aggravating is the realization that I represent not only me, but my brother, all of our actors, all of our partners and all of our work with everything I post now. I have to pick and choose my battles instead of just debating anyone who wants to. But when the statement's already been publicly made by someone else, suddenly I have to decide how to respond because silence is in its own way endorsing the thought.

Not vision. It's politics and general lifestyle choices.

You follow a guy back because he followed you, then see a ton of far right retweets and conspiracy theory stuff. Or another guy who retweets porn and makes constant disparaging posts about women.

I made a tweet about the shooting in my hometown and got a reply about gun control politics. I suddenly realized that I'm representing a brand and not just my personal views, and how to best respond is suddenly hard. I feel a sort of obligation to use what little platform I have for positive change, but I also don't want to rope everyone involved in our projects under my political umbrella, or alienate fans because our views are different.

I just want to make funny videos and release them and be done. Why do I have to be on social media too. God. Damn.
If you stay vocal about your political leanings, your fanbase will likely end up swaying the same way as you do. Otherwise, you could present yourself as apolitical, so those political arguments don't happen. That's what Jerma985 does, though most people will do the former which is much more natural if you ask me.

I see everyone is having a lovely day full of drama and Fire Emblem. Here, have this!

If character reveals for DLC are 3 months(ish) apart, then it’s next month for sure.

Joker-released in April
Hero-released in July
Banjo-released in September/October
Character 4-???
Character 5-???

If all picks are out by the end of February 2020, then that means they’d have to get the lead out for the last two. Waiting 3 months from September/October to Character 4 would put us in December/January territory, with pick 5 going way over.

My guess is Character 4 in September Direct, Character 5 around the Holiday season.

Also:
Got to Chapter 14 I think, and boy this game is great. I recruited everybody I could, and squared off with Claude and Hilda. At first I thought killing Hilda as Byleth would save her, but it didn’t.

I used a Divine Pulse, then retreated to the south (Edelgard and Falcon Knight Petra pushed north to cut off reinforcements successfully). I was always just one space away from Hilda because I was dragging Linhardt an extra space as Dorothea. I made it all the way to Claude, beat him, and spared him.

Hilda survived, as did Claude. If IS ever decided that the Crimson Rose path was “canon”, I would absolutely LOVE a game based on Claude leaving Fodlan and doing something of his own volition...and maybe returning to repay his debt in a rebellion against our lovely emperor.

Still working on romancing Edelgard. I love this character.

Yeah, I can understand that's a lot of weight on your shoulders.

This is simply my two cents, but I would stay neutral, and try not to comment on political matters.

I'm kind of a centrist by nature. I think anyone can enjoy media regardless of political views. I don't align with the idea of "if you believe _____ then I don't want you enjoying my stuff", which I see surprisingly often.

Creative work is separate from the creator; I don't agree with many political leanings Aaron Lewis has, but he's still my favorite musician. It's just easier to say this than to execute it in practice. Some of our most active fans are people I would not associate with as individuals. But they should still be able to enjoy my work if they want. (And ignore the messages that run directly contrary to their personal beliefs, I guess.)

yeah, now that I think about it my advice doesn't really apply to content like yours where the creator is mostly removed from the entertainment

Yeah, this sort of stuff is specifically why I'd rather be seen as an avatar than a physical person lol.

I don't care if people know what I look like at all. I'd just rather they see the work itself and not the person behind it. What I make is far more interesting than what I am.

Thanks though. I appreciate good advice from smart people.

I prefer giving people obvious advice. Like “Don’t touch the stove when cooking” or “Don’t go swimming in a thunderstorm”.

That way, I never give bad advice

The more I think about it the more I could see the next Direct being in October.

September is stacked with releases and airing a Direct in the middle of that runs the risk of distracting from the core marketing of those titles. October on the other hand is completely empty except for Luigi’s Mansion on the 31st. They could do a Direct in the first week of October and focus on Luigi’s Mansion and Banjo in Smash while ending with fighter 4’s trailer.

It would also let them show off fighter 4 in greater detail than rushing them out like Banjo.
