Did they reconsider the character roster? Because I remember some characters not yet seen in SSF2 from that time (Bowser was one of them, but with his BIS sprite). Atlhough, it was in the same time as the almost-cancellation of SSF2 and Peach fighting with a sword.

Character roster was thrown out a long time ago. Isaac, Chibi-Robo, Bomberman, and Black Mage were not on the old roster.

Inb4 the usual "Too many ****ing Mario characters!" complaints. What, it's always true when it comes to any Smash fandom.

All the series needs in the Flash game is Luigi. People love to complain.
Why didn't they resprite Wario is beyond me. That Wario Land sprite looks meh.

And "lol" Pokémon still has 2 characters.

The roster was rethought ages ago. Before the entire roster was known but now only the devs know, fan characters have been cut and only characters that have had at least one appearence on a Nintendo console will appear. Several characters have since appeared that were not on the orginial roster such as Black Mage, Bomberman, Chibi-Robo and Marth.

Saved. Not sure if expansion characters are still a thing, but even if they are I'm pretty sure they said it was impossible to program time slows/stops, which would kind of ruin playing as Homura. I'd have to redesign her entire playstyle.

I would try out SSF2 if they put this Pikachu sprite in 1.0:

and remade it so it can attack and do stuff. Of course it would have to be resized and all, but I honestly don't care about it being resized.
I don't know who to main in that game.

Also we're obviously going to get Mewtwo, dude. I mean... look at it, who wouldn't want Mewtwo?! It's like, the best Pokémon in existence! I may have to drop Pikachu for Mewtwo....
