SoCal Smash Snowboarding Trip

It's going to be ****ing hot, Oats and I are gonna plan it, but this is just a preliminary thread to see who would be interested. Only post if you're pretty sure you'd be able to go. We'd rent a cabin and possibly a shuttle, or you could take individual transportation as you see fit.

I would be 100% down for a snowboarding trip with smashers

Also there is a weeklong snowboarding trip to canada Im going to. SMASHERS WELCOME!!

Its from Dec 13 - 19th

Its $650 to go. The money covers your tickets, the drive (luxury party bus), lodging (in condos, with seperate beds for everyone), parties (parties thrown by the resort every night and parties in the condos), and tons of booze.

If you know snowboarding prices you know this is a DEAL.

Location is Whistler Canada, where the olympics are being held.

Its basically a week of getting drunk, snowboarding, partying, and getting more drunk with other college people. If you like any of that, youll have a blast (Canadian drinking age is 19).

You need a passport, and 100$ deposits are due soon, so if anybody wants to go let me know asap.

I know its incredibly unlikely that anybody would come but Im just throwing it out there anyways

Thats because I go to Cal Poly Pomona, and its a joint trip with Cal Poly SLO every year
They partied in our condos

If I get enough money Ill buy a season pass to bear this year. My friend has a cabin up there. If any smashers are interested for a more spontaneous "Are you free this weekend? Lets go snowboarding" thing instead of a planned trip, then Ill post it up here once in a while.

BTW snowboarding is mad fun. If anybody hasn't gone you should definitely try it once

You should say "try succeeding once" because the first (few) time(s) usually consists of falling alot on your ***, and it becomes addicting when you can get down the mountain somewhat fast without falling.

The first couple times I went I sucked **** and had no fun

But then again I was a little kid. Older people should get the hang of it the first day

i tried it once like 6 years ago
it was hard and i was very awkward
but i knew this really cool guy in high school who was all about skiiing
so skiing is still cool to me

so i have a small condo i can look into at mammoth (like 6 hour drive, big spread out town)

and a bigger condo i can look into at big bear (3 hour drive, more compact town)

basically my dad said if im looking to go party up north i should try for the second one, so im gonna go with that one first

he recommended playing down the amount of people (saying like 6-8 instead of 8-10. little does he know there will probably be like 30 of us), paying a small amount per night (like 10-20 for 6 people, so like 5 per night for 20+) and brining our own linens and towels (so bring a sleeping bag and your own towels)

basically give them 'a little something' and not using their laundry.

should be lots of snow by mid december, so do we want to do this before christmas (a hectic and busy time), after, or go in november (idk about this idea)?

also we gotta clean our **** up on the last day
