[Registration]
Registration starts at 10am, tournament starts at 11am. To register you must have a Mikomicon badge. A day badge is $25.

[Rules]
1. One on one, best of three, double elimination.
2. Stages will be RANDOMly selected from the following: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Kirby 64 and Pokemon Stadium.
3. Items will be OFF (due to overwhelming demand).
4. Stock will be at 4 lives.
5. Pause will be OFF.
6. Time limit for each round is 8:00.

[Prizes]
1ST- Nintendo Wii
2ND- Nintendo DS Lite
3RD- Super Smash Bros. Brawl


Just as a footnote, last year's winners were DSF, Wolf, and U-Haul Guy. There was a total of 84 entrants, and the tournament lasted approximtely 7 hours. The rules are exactly the same as last year, except items are on.

Wow! This is anyones game since Items are ON. I will go if I have enough money and items are OFF.

Edit: Yeah, this was the CSUN tournament, which took place sometime in October last year, I think. That was my first smash tournament ever and I had fun, but I don't get why items are ON this time.

I turned items on because I was expecting Brawl to be out by now, but since it's not, I didn't want to run a tournament identical to last year. There aren't many item tournaments at all, and I want to host at least one big items tournament and bring in some players who have strayed from entering tournaments because of the apparent domination by players who prefer items off.

Well, I was kinda kidding. I ran a couple tournaments in my area last year, and I went to Evo West and Evo Finals 06. If guys like Enigmatic Cam and Lion-O go, then nobody has a shot of winning. Thank goodness Pobre and Stelzig live overseas.

There were only three from the mariokart64 community that went: Husky, Cam and me. Cam got 1st, Husky 2nd and I got 6th.

Not sure if Lion-O plays anymore.

If the MK tourney is DD, then it should be run with items on Basic. But I'm guessing/hoping its MKDS.

I still need to pick up the DS Lite, but the other prizes are secured. As for Mario Kart, I don't know what to give for a prize. I was thinking a copy of Brawl, but I'm really not sure.

For anyone planning on competing in our tourney. The MikomiCon staff will be at the Little Tokyo Shopping Plaza today, Sunday from 10am-5pm for LTAF(part of Nisei week) the address is: 333 S Alameda Los Angeles, Ca. We are on the second floor.

We are running the video screening area. You can also pre-reg for the con. So, if anyone lives near little tokyo and would like to come on by today, they can pre-reg and get a very cool bandana

They used my machine for the Freestyle part of the tourney. You won right?

Anyways, we do have media badges. You can show up on Saturday morning (I suggest 10am for anyone who wants to sign up the day of) and just let the registration people know that you're with whoever (show some credentials) and they should let you in no problem. You can even email registration@mikomicon.com and it should be taken care of before then.

I didn't win but I made the performance finals.

I don't know if I'm going to make it because of the Midnight Gaming Championship and who "possibly" could be going and where it's held. If that falls through, then I'll be at this tourney definitely.
